Tell SeaWorld To Extend Free-Admission Program To Gay Military Families

Sea World BelieveLike many tourist attractions, Sea World offers free admission to active duty, activated or drilling reservist or National Guardsman and up to three dependents. The Waves of Honor program is a one-time offer but is good at any of the SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment venues, which include Busch Gardens, Adventure Island and Sesame Place.

Unfortunately, the invitation isn’t extended to same-sex partners , or presumably their children.

A Change.org petition has been started to ask SeaWorld to change its policy. After all, if same-sex families can bear the burden of a loved one risking their lives for their country, they should be able to watch Shamu jump through a hoop.

Here’s a copy of the petition:

To  Sea World:

Military men and women risk their lives to protect the rights of the citizens of the United States and defend the freedom that allow organizations like Sea World to exist. Partners/spouses (dependents) of Military members should be allowed to participate in the Waves of Honor program regardless of sexual orientation. Change the current policy and promote a message of acceptance and change in society.
