It’s nearly impossible to compile a required viewing list of the late, great David Bowie’s incredible 40+ year career in music.
So we won’t try.
What we will offer is a list of performances that aren’t widely known. Have you seen his gender-bending rendition of “TCV-15” with Klaus Nomi and Joey Arais at his side?
Because it’s pretty awesome:
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Or how about this absurd and amazing “Young Americans” duet he performed with Cher?

By no means comprehensive, here are some other interesting collaborations and footnotes to Bowie rocking the house down:

“Starman” live on the BBC, 1972 — just too fabulous for words:

Yeah its impossible to really give a playlist of great David Bowie songs. His collection is extraordinary. Personally, my favorite is Heroes. Just always been something about the arrangement and lyrics of that song that has always been meaningful to me. But there’s so many others I love too. Still absolutely shocked but its been great listening to his music all day and his artistry will live forever.
Glücklich
@Jennifer House:
Bitch stole my look! That’s MY ‘do on her head!
@Blackceo:
I haven’t taken a deep enough dive into the Bowie canon so my faves are the popular, accessible “China Girl” and “Let’s Dance.”
Thursday nights at the Cat Club in San Francisco, circa 2003-05, the weekly “1984” event. Me and my Chinese best friend Mary (because every gay boy needs a Best Friend Mary)…”China Girl” would come on in the back room and we’d make a bee line for that dance floor.

Bowie. What can you say? To an entire generation of young men and women, he made it OK to not conform, not fit in and still feel powerful and good about yourself. He leaves behind such a great legacy of music. He will be missed. RIP, David.

“Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence” and “The Hunger” (with Catherine Deneuve) were significant times in my youth. I once drove two hours to see Mr. Lawrence in a theater. He was so beautiful in that film.
