The Andrew Christian Bible Says Bow Down and Pray (To These Guys)
Andrew Christian is best known for his eponymous line of underwear, featuring his signature red cross. But he also fancies himself a full-blown women’s fashion designer, which explains why he tried out for Bravo’s Project Runway replacement show The Fashion Project. And while he showed off some of his lady designs at last night’s L.A. Fashion Week show at Boulevard 3, we’re going to show you why Queerty prefers his better known fashions.

His stuff is crap. He uses terrible fabrics that feel like sandpaper to make the junk he designs.
How much dick did this guy have to suck to get where he is?
His fashion sense is so plain (and at times just wrong, see number two) that there’s no way he made it to a runway on his own merit. Taking a tank top and sticking a cross on it does not make it fashionable, hell for gays it should make it the opposite.
Have to agree with above. “Underwear fashion designer” is an oxymoron.
This tacky-assed shit just confirms that many, many gay men run counter to the stereotype that the gays have some genetic style gene – because AC was obviously born without one. This stuff looks like the crappiest mid-western, hair burner, Forever 21 mall stylist there is. The materials and construction are the cheapest in the industry and the ‘design’ is laughable. It only gets attention because he puts these feedbags on hot boys with big packages who could make a potato sack look sexy. Not exactly an original idea.
I am sick of these gay fashion designers. They are helping to prop up the sleazy straight guy fantasy, putting women in ridiculously lurid clothing that borders on porn. We in the gay community shouldn’t support them simply because they’re gay.
Why is the “straight guy fantasy” of having women in lurid clothing sleazy? And why does it require a discontinuation of support to gay fashion designers?
Men and women are both treated as sex objects these days. I think that’s quite nice, and quite fun! :-)
I have a different thought. I am not an underwear user. Went on an RSVP cruise, looked at the AC underwear – bought 10 pair. I like the colors and fabrics are so soft. So I am now hooked on AC underwear. I live in Florida. I want to one day go to his outlet store in CA. My problem is with AC, is the models he uses – I wish they would be everyday type guys. I think it out be hotter. Now why is he designing womens clothing???

I generally find his “designs” CRAP, but i’m all for the sexualization of men gay or straight. The ideal male body is a beautiful thing that should be admired.

@yourboo: Yes, AC’s crap is just that… Psychoass crap! I wouldn’t pay anything for those butt ugly outfits. I don’t even know how much I’d be willing to be paid to wear that sh*t in public.
Last year I bought a swimsuit from AC. Before I wore it a half-dozen times it was coming apart, and before the summer was over I threw i in the garbage where it belonged. The stuff is crap.
This has been a great opportunity to warn young gay men with limited budgets not
to spend their hard earned money on this crap and crap seems to be the word that is coming to the minds of most of us who have seen this stuff.
I don’t really “get” designer underwear. I mean, I totally understand paying a premium for underwear that feel and look good. But I don’t understand what drives the market for underwear of a particular branding or trendiness.
A fit guy will look great in a $2 pair of white briefs from Target. An out-of-shape guy won’t look good even if he spends $100 on whatever was shown on some runway last week. I say, put all the money and effort toward diet and exercise rather than comparing underwear designers, and the return will be far greater. :-)
The only reason I’d ever wear Andrew Christian is if someone gave it to me for free. These “phys ed” logos are so tacky and just play into the whole “hot jock” fantasy (which is so not what I’m attracted to).

Andrew Christian is the BEST. The style is fantastic, the materials are of the highest quality. Anyone that says otherwise doesn’t know anything about apparel or probably works for one of the other lame companies that…try…to compete with Andrew Christian.
Why all the hate on these comments? Those designs look good to me. Those guys look hot. It’s a fashion show, aren’t the models supposed to be just that models of what a guy should be, not “average” fat dudes, who wants to look at that?
“Hot jock” is an awesome fantasy, specially if you have the body.
What I would like to know from all these haters is: how is your brand doing? Uh What brand? exactly. All these underwear designer haters. I like the style, the fit and I wear it because I think it makes me look better. Who’s the dude that said the material feels like sandpaper… are you HI ? Try the Almost Naked underwear – it’s like a velvet glove is cradling your junk.

Implying that he sucked dick to get to where he is, is not only wrong it is also inaccurate….you might want to do some research on how much he has struggled over the years. All these ramblings. Like I mentioned in my earlier post, I am not an underwear wearer-saw AC underwear, bought them- love them. Love the colors, love the fabrics. Would love to jet to his CA. Outlet store and pick up his other merchandise. I don’t know how they wear, but right now, I am very much a fan. Where else can you get all those neat and interesting colors? Not really into the models he uses though.
i said that the swimwear came apart in normal usage, like after about six swims—there must have been something wrong with the sewing or with the fabric. I don’t know what was wrong. I don’t know how to make a swimsuit. That’s why I bought one. It’s pretty basic. My AC swimsuit was crap. It ended up in the garbage after a couple weeks. I’m just telling you what happened.
@russs: I have about 10 different Andrew Christian swim suits and I haven’t ever had ANY problems…at all. They have a “no questions asked” return policy…why didn’t you return it if you thought there was a defect?

I’ve been buying andrew christian for years and never had any problems. Their clothes are a perfect fit. If you haven’t tried the bamboo underwear you don’t know what you’re missing!
I mean, he has an eye for color and pattern, but I don’t think he has much attention for shape or line. And the fabrics here don’t look too appealing. Maybe just not my taste.
