The Gays Made Sen. Arlen Specter Change Teams
The first time, anyhow. Back in 1965, serial political party swapper Sen. Arlen Specter joined the Republican party when the Democrats turned a blind eye to gay witch hunting. Judges would extort gay men rounded up by the police, and when Specter went after them, Democratic leaders, let’s say, “frowned” on it.
You either write badly or disingenuously. “…and when Specter went after them.” could read “went after the gays”, or “went after the corrupt magistrates carrying out the gay witch hunt.” Specter clearly means the second.
Gay people make everything better.
