@Chris Kelly: Um, actually… no! Seriously, they PAY you to write a column about “Girls”? Well I guess they might need to, or else no one would do it, but why would they WANT to? It’s a weird world. :)

@the other Greg: There’s plenty of writing on the internet (by people who get paid more than me, I’m sure) that discusses why “Girls” is such a cultural touchstone. I don’t agree with all of it, but as with all questions, the answers are just a Google search away. I can’t convince you that the show is worth watching (and am inconsistently convinced that it is myself), but if you want to read other people’s rationale, it’s out there.

@Chris Kelly: “cultural touchstone” – apparently. But is it a GAY cultural touchstone? OK I’ll watch it some more, may as well justify that HBO subscription.
