The L Word Goes Directly to Jail
Can’t get enough of Showtime lesbian drama The L Word? Well, one of its main characters is being sent off to the slammer for murder (murder!), in a lesbian prison spin-off that the network has in the can. Which lady is giving up her Birk’s for prison slippers? Find out after the jump.
The NY Post reports:
“Showtime has confirmed it recently completed a spinoff of “The L Word” in which one the show’s most popular characters, Alice Pieszecki (played by Leisha Hailey), lands in prison for murder.
“It’s tied into ‘The L Word’ storyline this year with the Jenny character that gets killed,” network president Bob Greenblatt tells The Post.
On the series, Alice is a writer who works for LA Magazine. “
Its murdering someone on tv so you can get your own show and further your career good.

Ummm, not so much. The spinoff had been in the planning stages by the end of season five, and frankly, Alice was the frontrunner for getting the spinoff in any case, so this is just the direction Chaiken decided to take the show in. Frankly, I think most L Word viewers would say that Jenny needed to die in season one, and it’s just too bad than anyone has to go to prison for it.
I’m bummed Jenny was my favorite character and I had hoped Alice would get the spin-off but I had hoped it would be her moving to New York for her join that The Viewish show she auditioned for and having a great out life why did such a great character have to end up in prison?

It makes no sense whatsoever for Alice to have murdered Jenny. None…. I love this show and will just be over it if she murders Jenny
