The Luxury Gay Hotels That Will Soon Be (Struggling To) Take America’s Reservations

What does it take to make a hotel … gay? Gay owners? Gay district location? Techno-music playing on its homepage? The soon-to-launch G Worldwide brand, a subsidiary of the New York-based Freedom Developments, has at least that last one going for it. Still over a month from launching, G Worldwide promises “beautifully located hotels with uber high-tech facilities” that will “launch in 5 major US locations over the next two years.” Ambitious! First up: New York, Florida, Vegas, and California. “Some of the most innovative, creative people in design, food & beverage, nightlife, events and hospitality have assembled to create this pioneering resort lifestyle concept,” we’re promised. We’re assuming it’s these people whose business plan says there’s a market for gay-specific hotels in an industry that’s seen occupancy rates (and revenue per available room) plummet. But maybe they and The Out NYC know something we don’t.

No. 1 · Top Gay Hotels

I was following all the publicity campaign by G Worldwide and it seems silly: everything is great, luxury, extraordinary etc..
At the same time their homepage is empty, there are no details of the projects.. So to me it seems one big nonsense.. I don“t believe we will see any of these properties open its doors in the near future..
And then when we talk a GAY HOTEL, then every gay person is after a personal touch, not a holiday Inn concept for gays..

Get a clue people! Axel Hotels in Berlin, Barcelona and Buenos Aires are doing BIG business marketing themselves “hetero friendly”. There is a huge market for this.
