Oh give me a break, EVERY actor gets asked about their private life. You don’t think that Jennifer Lopez and Mark Anthony hate it when the tabs say they are getting a divorce every month? You don’t think that George Clooney wouldn’t rather that they don’t talk about every date he has with a cocktail waitress or Robert Di Niro wouldn’t have rather not had his palimony case dragged through the tabloids. Suck it up and deal with it or get into another line of work.

Cam, you are exactly right. If Randy H. didn’t know that an interest in his personal life would accompany any sort of fame, then he’s an idiot. I mean, I do understand his—and Matt Damon’s and Robert DeNiro’s and Jennifer Anistson’s and everyone else’s—point, and I suppose annoyance, but the fact is, that is part and parcel of life in the public eye. You don’t want it, it’s very simple, don’t make TV shows or movies. You can still be an actor and do community or dinner theater, see how you like that.

Of course they do! It goes with the territory, part and parcel of being a public figure. However, that doesn’t mean they have to like it. There are actors who are not so ego driven to want or need their private lives an open book. I don’t think that’s unreasonable, nor do I consider it to be a contradiction regarding their profession.

Yes, every actor gets asked about their personal life but straight actors can and pretty frequently do say they aren’t willing to discuss who they are dating or what is happening in the relationship without it being considered any sort of moral failing or bad behavior. Straight stars routinely lie about whether they are dating someone and conceal upcoming marriages and child births and all kinds of personal things from the press.
Gay stars are under pressure for political reasons to open up and volunteer honest personal information to the press even if they don’t want to instead doing like many straight stars and trying to keep things quiet and leaving it to the tabloids to try to unearth information on their own.
Life isn’t fair and there are people with worse problems than gay celebrities but that doesn’t mean gay celebrities can’t resent or regret the constraints they have that their straight peers don’t have while handling press.

Straight actors don’t have the choice, they are photographed by photogs peeking over their bushes, following them to restaurants, getting medical information (Remember all of Britany Spears information from UCLA being leaked?) This guy here can absolutly say he doesn’t want to discuss who he is dating. What HE is complaining about is that the press has a hands off policy with closeted actors, they WON’T print stories about them or follow them around, so now that this actor is out, his problem is that he’s being treated like every other straight actor out there and being asked about his personal life.
