The OTHER Gay Book Scandal

homobritannicus

While Amazon.com figures out whether they really want to blame a "glitch" for re-classifying gay books as "adult" and stripping them from standard searches and sales ranking, England's Manchester University has its own gay book scandal. There, librarians filed away Homo Britannicus — "widely regarded as the most authoritative documentation of man's habitation on earth" — in the Gay & Lesbian section. Students pointed out the error, and the tome was returned to its proper section — where only academics will bother with it, while gays will return to checking out Heather Has Two Mommies. The university blamed "simple human error." Try that one, Amazon.

Not much of a scandal, a lazy librarian filed it in similar but not quite the right section.

"Scandal" isn't the word I would use. Why is it even news?
