The Punishing Engagement Of Tom Hardy, Bisexual Hollywood Hottie, To A Lady

Tom Hardy, the celebrity bisexual star of Inception, is saying goodbye to gentlemen: He’s engaged to girlfriend Charlotte Riley, the British actress. Though you never know what types of relationships famous folks have, so there might be hope for you yet.

I’m fairly certain he claimed his comments were taken out of context and said he’s not bisexual.

Why do you even want any of these fame whores on our team? They only play games with their sexuality so people pay attention to them.

this is one of the problems with the misunderstanding of bisexuality.

sexual experimentation =/= bisexuality. many men experiment with other men, many women experiment with other women. that does not mean they’re identifying as “bisexual”.

      get it right, already.

@DR: I have to agree. Even when “taken out of context”, Hardy’s comments sound more like “Yeah, I tried it way back when” than “a little dick’ll do ya every now and then”.

Must be a slow day at Queerty, because I didn’t really see the point of this article. We knew he fucked around with guys in his past, we knew he’s getting married to a woman.

All this was was futile short summary of an article already posted months ago. Is there anything new to report?

BTW, referring to him as “the celebrity bisexual” wasn’t that constructive. I can imagine one of the reasons stars prefer to not disclose their gay/bisexual orientation is because of the way you just pigeonholed him. Instead of being Tom Hardy, actor…he’s labeled “the celebrity bisexual.” If you were interviewing him, would you even be interested in getting the lowdown on his latest movie, or would you be trying to get the dirt on his [gay] sex life?

It was a source close to Tom aka his publicist who claimed it was “taken out of context” not him..He even admitted in the Jonathan Ross show that when he was in LA he woke up in bed naked with another man and a gun.. later the guy dropped him off to some gym

I have no doubt that Tom Hardy is bisexually oriented in his thoughts, feelings and behaviors. No doubt at all. To what extent, I’m not sure. The word “bisexual” does not contain any detail as to extent. He could be a 90:10 or a 10:90 bisexual. I have no information on that whatsoever.

As for the marriage, my only concern is that it might have been organized by some sleazy agent or studio honcho. Agents are the vilest of the species. They are our enemies. Their job is to heterosexualize actors – especially men – in order to make them appear “acceptable” to the masses.

Let’s make it a point of naming and exposing the agents in Hollywood who are a party to this disgrace.

As I recall it, Mr. Hardy said he had had sex with men, no he wasn’t anymore he was chasing the ladies. So this announcement corroborates his earlier statements. These disclosures are important because it only in the last 50 years that people have assumed that gay sexual encounters prevent heterosexuality. I have known many people who had active gays lives and then married a woman.

No the marriage wasn’t organised. They met on the set of Wuthering Heights – a UK tv series – he played Heathcliffe, obviously. He also has a son from a previous relationship. I doubt he’s a “fame whore” looking to get attention; he was asked the question in an interview whether he’d ever had a sexual experience with a man and he answered honestly. Not entirely sure that that equates to active bisexuality anymore than if a gay guy had a slept with a woman in the past.

I didn’t say that Tom Hardy’s marriage was arranged. I simply stated it was a concern in terms of how Hollywood manipulates images to suit the masses.

As for Tom’s marriage to the lovely Charlotte, good on him. He is perfectly entitled to marry the love of his life.

You know if I was a mostly straight guy it’s the media, like Queerty, which would force me into NOT admitting to having any sexual attraction towards men when if a man even hints at not being 100% straight the media, aka Queerty, starts labeling the person as queer.

Maybe Queerty mentions him because it’s mostly actresses who admit to same sex experiences..it’s rare to hear it from for up and coming actors

      @Bobert:

That’s fine, I think it’s great he’s not afraid to talk about past sexual experimentation. However, let’s not give him a label which may not fit because of it.

    • No. 16 · McMike

@Bobert: He admitted to fooling around when he was practically a kid and did NOT admit to having any other sexual encounters with men. This does NOT make one a bisexual, it makes one human. If the gay media is going to start calling all men queer who will admit to experimenting with other men then we’re going to start seeing a lot more closets.

btw, would Queerty STOP having it’s employees rate and respond to postings??? It’s obvious, IMO, you were involved in writing this piece because this is a piece of crap and anyone who knows the story could tell the difference.

Everybody has the capacity for bisexuality. That’s not to say everybody is a little bi or whatever; because that’s a stupid label. We use labels in order to relate to others. “I’m gay”= I only date those of the same sex. “I’m straight”= I only date those of the opposite sex.

It does seem to me like females have a higher tendency towards bisexuality than males, though. I have only ever met one truly “bi” guy and tons of girls who would call themselves “bi”.

The worst thing about this: is that we’re meant to care. We are meant to collectively sigh and fuss over whether Hardy will/is/has been ‘available’ to us, as gays?

It’s ludicrous Queerty. Stop pursuing this man. He may be a raving closet case and deeply gay for all anyone knows but he clearly has Jake Gyllenhaal levels of interest in coming out and sharing it if he is. You should really move on and stop making out that gays actually give a fig about his status and whether we should be sitting on the sidelines ‘waiting’ for the ‘hope’ that he’ll turn. Let him get on with it.

To those who have doubts that this engagement may be a creation of his publicist and or managment you need to realize exactaly how the system works. For decades there has been a tremendous battle waged by actors versus their publicists regarding the matter of comming out. These days more actors are more adpt to admit to it realizing that it is no longer the absolute kiss of death for a career. Publicists not so much. Realize a publicist and or managment firm doesn’t actually give a flying fcuk about the actual person they are representing. Their actual client is the reputation and public face of the person. Anything that “damages” the reputation and public perception will in turn hurt the publicist in their wallet.

The timing of this particular announcment seems suspect. A month after his discussing Bi-sexuality, and his publicist frantically denying it was anything more than a nano-second of his life the engagement is announced……..If the announcment is somehow legit, all the best to the happy couple………

I have a friend who is an entertainment lawyer and they actually create legal binding documents for marriages/engagements which are completley for show. One of the most famous Gays who broke millions of womans hearts back in I guess the 1950′s with the news of his “engagement” and subsquent “marriage” was Rock Hudson. When the lawyers are creating these documents he told me to make sure everyone is on the same page as to what the actual status of the relationship they still to this day refer to them as a “Rock solid marriages/engagements”…….. :p

Not true. Majority people are 100% straight or gay.

      PopSnap,

Many of those girls who call themselves bi are attention whores of the first order. Their so-called bisexuality is designed to please men who have a fetish for girl-girl action. These women are borderline prostitutes who perform for a voyeuristic male.

These women are also the product of a society which is based on the bisexualization of women for the benefit of men. It is the ultimate goal of liberals to encourage women to wear little clothing and to be bisexual.

This form of female bisexuality is a porn pardigm, pure and simple. Note there is no correlation in men, just as there is no promotion of male bisexuality in porn movies save for a very small number.

      PopSnap,

I should also say that I am not hostile to the concept of female bisexuality per se. I am simply hostile to the concept of women who use their so-called bisexuality as a marketing ploy to appeal to men who crap on our GLBT rights.

I should also point out that one of my best friends identifies as a female bisexual. She’s a terrific, nice person. If I was automatically hostile to female bisexuals, as many on this board have claimed, why would I be on good terms with her? We’ve been out dancing, partying – you name it.

      @PLAYS WELL WITH OTHERS:

I completely agree with you, but I don’t know if that the case for Tom Hardy, here. He’s been dating her for quite some time, and he has always seem besotted with her. That said, I have heard from numerous folks out there in the UK he still dabbles with men from time to time, but it still seems like he genuinely enjoys this Charlotte girl.

However, I would put what you said by a publicist and say to Tom, “okay, let’s just say you’re engaged to save face and not make studio execs nervous in giving you leading roles.”

      I wouldn’t put that past a publicist/agent at all.

My actor friends have some horror stories for you. Forget the legal documents, threats are made, dire warnings, the whole bag.
