The Republican Politicos Not Acting Like 3-Year-Olds Over GOProud Sponsoring CPAC: McConnell, Paul

While the Family Research Council, Concerned Women for America, Liberty University, Heritage Foundation, Sen. Jim DeMint, and Rep. Jim Jordan are all skipping next weekend’s CPAC in D.C. because of the GOProud gays, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Sen. Rand Paul are still gonna be there. How mature of you fellas.

While McConnell’s spokesperson says “CPAC is an important annual conference for conservatives, and Sen. McConnell looks forward to attending,” Paul’s goes one step further, calling GOProud’s involvement “a nonissue. … This is the largest conservative gathering in the country, and Sen. Paul wouldn’t miss it.” Both men are booked to speak. Also still going: Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels and Rep. Mike Pence (both considering 2012 presidential runs), Rep. Michele Bachmann, and Donald Rumsfeld.

Ugh. Why did Sen. DeMint make me start thinking McConnell and Paul are actually reasonable people?

At least Stephen Baldwin will be there to distract me. You can always count on this Baldwin to do somethin’ crazy.
