The ‘Suspicious’ Fire That Almost Claimed Knoxville’s Club XYZ

Flames at Club XYZ, the gay bar in Knoxville, were spotted by a passing motorist Sunday morning — and the city fire department, which was able to put out the flames without injury, believes the fire is suspicious enough to call in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. UPDATE: Police say the fire was intentionally set, but are jumping to call it a hate crime.
