THE SHOT — Explain Stephen Moyer on the sex appeal of vamps: “”If we go from a base level, vampires create a hole in the neck where there wasn’t one before. It’s a de-virginization…creating blood and then drinking the virginal blood. And there’s something sharp, the fang, which is probing and penetrating and moving into it. So that’s pretty sexy. Plus, Robert Pattinson is just hot, right?” [via]

My BF gives me recaps of the show every week. Apparently, the girl and the brunette are the main characters and the worst part of the show, while the tall blond is the best. Also, Gay Dracula is the King of Mississippi, and he just called for a Civil War between vampires and humans by de-spining a news anchor on live tv and threatening to eat all the human children because the blond one killed his boy toy while they were having sex because Gay Dracula killed the blond one’s Viking family a thousand years ago.

But yeah, don’t care for the cover.

@7: Uhh..thanks for the re-cap? But I do agree that Stephen Moyer is annoying as Bill. I love Paquin though. Hot cover. Hot cover.

The cover is gross. And why aren’t the two men touching each other? If it was two women, Rolling Stone would probably have shown them touching. They’ve done it before with two women but specifically seem to avoid showing two men touching.
As far as I’m concerned, Rolling Stone has a double standard and is homophobic towards male-male sexuality. It and its editor (Jan Wenner) can both fuck off.
A hearty “fuck you” to Jann Wenner.
bruce
Jason,
Oh, yes, I do agree with you about Jann Wenner and Rolling Stone’s apparent homophobia towards showing two men touching.

Last Sunday night, we were treated to a close-up of Tommy’s nekkid ass. Round and plump and so fuckable.
My kind of shape shifter.

It’s funny how out of touch the advertising for popular shows is. On Glee they mostly advertise the kids most viewers don’t care about.
On True Blood it’s Sookie and Bill getting most of the advertising when they’re the most boring aspect of the show.
It’s the rest of the town that makes True Blood interesting and fun to watch.
Without characters like Tara, Jessica, Hoyt, Sam, Arlene, etc the show would be boring as hell. Rene still ranks #1 as best villain for me, and there was nothing supernatural about him.
If Alan Ball was in charge of advertising I can assure you it would be Tara and Franklin on the cover. Some of his most powerful writing has been through Tara and Franklin raping her repeatedly was horrifying.
Mr. Ball quite obviously downplays the vampire and supernatural aspect of the show while putting a major focus on the drama. Hell ask yourself the last time you’ve ever seen Sookie deal with something as meaty as rape, suicide, or kidnap/torture.

Replace Anna Paquin with Joe Manganiello and you’d have the True Blood 3-way cover I’ve been waiting to see. I like Ms. Paquin’s work very much, but really don’t have a desire to see her nude.
soakman
Screw Sookie and Bill.
Focus on Lafayette, Jesus, Eric, Godric, Rusell, Talbot, and those with acting talent who are not gay characters (a la Rubie Jean, Lettie Mae, Franklin, Tara, Jason)…
This cover is dumb.
David
I’m guessing this is Sookie’s heavy flow day.
EdWoody
No, Robert Pattinson is not hot.

@David: Bada-boom!

Does anyone get the feeling someone is voting more than once? I find it a bit odd Jason got nine thumbs-down votes and zero thumbs-up, even when the next poster agreed with him, and the first posting barely has 4 votes altogether.
Queerty needs to stop hiding the low rating postings unless they’re anti-gay. So what if you don’t agree with someone’s posting. It’s no reason for censorship.

Love the show, and characters and the cover…thumbs up! sure alcid would have been hot in the middle….its still a sexy cover. this past sundays episode was epic….”Tiffany, back to the weather”
Jeffree
@Rock in Sunny Fla: Total agreement on Joe Manganiello: That guy is way hot.
@McMike: it’s because Jason posts multiple times under multiple screen-names, typically in rapid one after the other fashion. Better than 65% odds that “Bruce” is one of Jason’s sock puppets.

Vamps used to be dangerous and sexy, now they’re mainstream fun for the whole family. That cover is not sexy, and as much as I still enjoy the show, it’s starting to go the way of Heroes after the first season, and that’s not a good thing.
SouLKid
I hate this cover. There’s just something off that i can’t put my finger on. And im a huge fan of Alex but this is one picture i won’t co-sign.
PopSnap
TrueBlood is the most amazing show to grace HBO since The Sopranos. I’ve been a vampire fan since Lestat & Buffy, and I cannot wait every week for TrueBlood to come back on. Interestingly enough, I have a blood phobia, but Eric is one of the sexiest mother f*ckers that ever strutted his stuff on my TV screen so that blood phobia instantly disappears and only makes the show more exciting for me.
People posting here asking why Sookie, Bill, & Eric are on the cover don’t seem to understand the simple fact that they are the main characters. Charlaine Harris wrote the Southern Vampire Mysteries from Sookie’s POV, not Tara’s or Pam’s or Lafayette’s. Yes, the backstories are what really makes the show; but Sookie, Bill, & Eric are still a symbol of TrueBlood as much as Finn. Kurt, & Rachel are the stars of Glee or Dr. House is still the star of House. People would be confused if RS had put up a pic of Tara and Franklin because they aren’t as well known as any of the 3 characters depicted on the cover.
The cover is sexy, and the show is shocking, sexy, and funny. Thanks, Alan Ball!
afrolito
Anyone who thinks this cover is sexy, really needs to get out more.
D'oh, The Magnificent
@PopSnap: Most of the people whining are the usual “I am above it all, and nothing surprises me” crew you can see at any gay watering hole. They aren’t interesting themselves so they pretend not to like anything that is. Its their thing.

It is necessary to advance male bisexuality at all possible levels!!!
Only this destroy double standards and help to men open own male sexuality and homoerotism!
Max
Stupid american conformists,
What is the wrong written by Jason? What? Answer concrete!
The relation to gays and to lesbians absolutely different. The reason – bisexual double standards! They never will accept gay guys while they will have a fear at gay sex and relations between men!!!
