The Winds of Equality Blow West to East

THE SHOT — Marching from Sheridan Square in New York City’s West Village to Union Square, hundreds of New York’s gay marriage supporters joined the rallying cry heard from California. Part show of solidarity, part demand for their own state to grant them equal rights, the demonstration attracted out New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn and a police escort.
