Britain does not have gay marriage despite what you’re told by the British gays. The British gays got sucked into accepting the lesser “civil partnership”. Don’t fall for the notion that they got gay marriage.

Andres, quite. Personally, I would never enter into a civil partnership because I believe in full marriage equality, but these legal unions do in fact confer all the rights and privileges of marriage including adoption of children and are portable throughout the UK, far more than same-sex marriage and civil unions in the U.S. are. I think its a question of time that the UK will eventually upgrade, it wouldn’t take much, just a name change via an act of parliament to recognize them as marriages.

@Noam, but unlike any other civil union in the world (barring deprecated Sweden’s) they are almost exactly equal with marriage in rights, and common people call them marriages. Calling them marriages makes it easier to grant the real thing.
