Rather than growing mustaches as many of us do during Movember, BuzzFeed’s fearless Try Guys show their support for the hairiest month of the year by getting examined for prostate and testicular cancer for the first time, and since they’re the Try Guys, what the heck, they do it on camera. The guys crack jokes to lighten the mood, but are obviously aware getting a finger up their butts isn’t all fun and games. They note that prostate cancer is the most common non-skin cancer among men in the United States and approximately 14 percent of men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime so it’s important to get checked. I was so disappointed to discover at my most recent checkup that digital prostate exams have been replaced by a blood test — only if possible cancer markers show up in the blood test is it followed up by a digital exam.
LOVE the Try Guys. Would love to have been at their Naked Sushi Buffet — I would have been the one dining WITH NO HANDS!

My great uncle died from prostate cancer it is at all seriousness a deadly thing and my dad had it too. He found it early and is ok now. When you get a certain age definitely have get checked.

@SteveDenver: The Digital Rectal Exam will always be part of a routine physical to screen for colorectal CA. In fact, an examiner is more likely to find one of those than a prostate mass.
PSA is still a very problematic test, so I don’t see clinicians relying on it. There are prostatic masses that are PSA-negative.
Whenever I have DREs I’m always too scared that they’ll find something to enjoy it. The first time I ever enjoyed it, it wasn’t a finger that was stimulating my prostate!

I know the internet goes crazy for Eugene; but I have a soft spot for Ned… I have never seen a straight guy who loves his wife (and mom) as much as Ned does… The women in his life are lucky.
