"These Queens Are Playing A Little Nicer Than They Used To."

Some bingo playing drag queens caused quite a commotion down in Sarasota, Florida.

Apparently the hostesses used bull horns duringthe game nights, thus amplifying their arsenal of expletives. A neighbor didn't approve and asked the queens to tone it down, which they have, but the neighbor's still complaining. So, what gives? Our theory: he either hates bingo or gay people. Or both.

No big fucking shock.

I used to know many of the staff at LIPS, the drag restaurant here in NYC.

The neighbors complained repeatedly when the place opened and the restaurant did everything they could to comply:
1) Curtains were drawn on the restaurant windows after dark
2) The manager had a sound meter to make sure the noise never got above 88 decibals
3) A bouncer was hired to shoo people away from the front of the restaurant after they left.

the complaints still came and finally the community board ruled in the restaurants favor and basically said any more complaints would be harassment against the restaurant.

ALSO, as the crowd at LIPS became more "straight" over the years the draq hostesses were forbidden to swear on the microphone, something that the staff turned into a joke "We're the Disney of Drag."

Can't vouch what is going on at LIPS these days, the queens I was friendly with no longer work there…so no reason to visit!

B-69!

That always got a big laugh when the drag queen called off the bingo number…
