THAT'S SUPER

This Weekend: Draw Naked Superheros For a Good Cause

935303_10151503301038922_674877788_nThis weekend, a team of naked superheros descends on Los Angeles. And then they’ll just sort of stand there.

It’s all part of a fundraiser for Bent-Con, a queer-friendly west coast comic book expo. It’s this Saturday at L.A. Glaneur, a delightful Silver Lake-ish vintage shop. Kicking things off is a live nude model figure-drawing/painting session from 4:30 to 6:30 (RSVP to salvador at bent-con dot org) and then an exhibition and silent auction from 6:30 to 9pm.

And while you’re there, you can pick up some badges for Bent-Con, which runs from November 8-10.

Models will be adorned with superhero body paint, courtesy of Marky Makeup. And the whole shebang is presented by Jeremy Lucido, whom you may know from the outstanding Starrfucker zine.

We swoon whenever nerds and gays intersect, and nudity is of course the icing on the cake. We’re terribly excited for this event. You might even say we’re in a Frenzy.
