Shannon is such an ignorant prick that its sad. I went one year and sure its a big party, but its also a big hug. Thousands of thousands of gay people who know each other having lunch dancing at the pool and just having a great time. Shannon probably spends the nights popping ass pimples and is jealous.

It isn’t the beards or hairiness that turns me off, AT ALL – in fact, it’s almost mandatory for a guy to have a beard, for me to want to boing them.
It’s just that these guys’ bodies are not too attractive. Their heads don’t fit on their over-worked out bods and the guy on the right is obviously one who abuses steroids.

I like the body hair. I think one of them even has a cute face once you get passed the body type. Do not like the body shape. I don’t like them skinny, but I don’t like them this over developed hulking either. I agree that this look along with other looks like “I’m a Twink!” seem like overcompensation. Its like their bodies are uniform that all look the same. BUt, then I dont like conformity so that’s likely what turns me off the most about the image.

@Truthful: Your incredible power that allows you to detect steroid use through nothing more than a photograph is sorely needed by the Olympics, Major League Baseball, and just about every athletic enterprise in the world. You could be the world’s first trillionaire.
A couple of decades ago, I had a boyfriend who resembled the one on the right. He was nearly 7 feet tall and weighed around 265 pounds of mostly muscle. It was just who he was. His brothers were of similar build as were a couple of his mother’s brothers. He was undoubtedly the strongest man I ever knew. He did not belong to a gym, but had worked outdoors since he was old enough to drive a tractor. He was also one the gentlest men ever, perhaps, because he was too big for all but the most stupid to challenge. He also liked to draw and was very good. In the five years we were boyfriends, I will guarantee that he never used steroids.
The guy on the right of the photo does not look worked out. He simply looks big.

Maybe the real issue is the same rampant phoniness that so many gay men subscribe to. It’s not enough to like a particular activity, or to wear particular clothes, you have to fashion an entire identity out of a label.
And maybe it’s an issue because it’s exactly what we’ve been fighting against the past fifty years. We’re supposed to be more complex than these vacuous parodies of masculinity or femininity. If memory serves weren’t the White parties supposed to be a charity benefit for hiv services?
I’m so sorry to say that when they started and I was going to several funerals a week, I was afraid they would turn out to be just booze and anonymous sex..which I don’t really have a problem with.. its the shallow bickering of a bunch of small minded queens grow up children. please.
