Tina Fey Coming Back To TV — And Landing On Fire Island

million-angels-high-fiveTina Fey’s coming back to TV!

If your primetime lives have been empty shells of what they once were following Tina’s departure from NBC, take heart: Fey and her 30 Rock cohort Robert Carlock, along with writer/producer Colleen McGuinness, are working on a new female-centric comedy for the peacock network that takes place on gay mecca Fire Island.

Fey will be an executive producer, but we also hope she’ll write and have a role on the show too! According to Deadline:

…the project, said to be in the vein of Cheers, is a character-driven workplace comedy where a young woman in search of reconnecting with her father finds a new home and family on Fire Island.

Fire Island, huh? What are the odds of calling it Queers? Either way, we’re bound to see a few LGBT characters and cameos. We can’t wait for Cheyenne Jackson to squeeze into his speedo as the scantily-clad houseboy we’re assuming will be part of the regular cast.

A gay icon in her own right, Fey has included several memorable homoments on 30 Rock, ranging from Jenna and Paul’s dragtastic romance to Frank’s crush on cougar Liz’s 20-something boy toy, and of course gay characters like D’Fwan:

And Devon Banks:

We feel the same way, Banks.
