Almost four short months after Olympic diving twink Tom Daley came out of the closet and announced he was “happily” dating screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, the pair have called it quits. Who on Earth could have seen this coming?!
In a message posted to his official Tumblr this morning, Tom confirmed the news and says he’d noticed DLB growing “distant” since they moved in together in January. “I don’t think he liked that I was hanging out with Dan Osborne all the time whilst filming Splash,” Tom wrote. “He didn’t think it was appropriate that Dan and I shared a tiny dressing room and often took up to an hour to help each other in and out of our Speedos.”
Sources in the UK are already reporting that a moving truck was spotted outside the couple’s shared flat this morning, and that Tom’s iPhone case is now sporting a picture of Team GB diver Jack Laugher.
Though DLB never officially confirmed that he was dating Tom Daley in the first place, he offered a statement to the press today, confirming the couple’s breakup. “I realized back in January that it would only be a matter of time before Tom turned 20,” he said. “His birthday is three months away and I just can’t see myself being with somebody that old.”

No way! I didn’t believe it for half a minute. I was warned as I woke up this morning that it was April Fools day. All this tale did was tell me that Lance and Tom share an apartment since January. To quote Lance: “The greatest thing we have in life is our capacity to love.” Real love which is what the story of Tom and Lance is all about, does not fall apart in that way. Have a nice day!
