London Fashion Week got a dose of American politics last night when famously ex-pat designer Tom Ford co-hosted an Obama Victory Fundraiser with world’s best-dressed woman Gwyneth Paltrow and Obama’s editor-in-chief supporter Anna Wintour.
Ford, who has largely eschewed press at his fashion shows since his return to women’s wear three seasons ago, went the same route with a private dinner attended by less than 25 people who nonetheless paid a reported $15,000 a plate. Guests included Cameron Diaz, Downton Abbey‘s Elizabeth McGovern (aka the Countess of Grantham, Cora Crawley herself) and Net-a-Porter founder Natalie Massenet.
As for Ford’s spring 2013 collection, The Hollywood Reporter claims the designer was in an unusually sporting mood with silk jersey hoodies and camel cashmere sweaters for day and black column dresses and leggings that resembled Spanx for evening.
“You can wear something perverse if the rest of you is chaste,” Ford said. Tell that to Mrs. Obama ’cause we’d love to see her sex it up a bit on Inauguration night (fingers crossed).
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.

Elizabeth McGovern plays Cora, the Countess of Grantham. Lady Mary Crawley is played by Michelle Dockery.

Now we see even liberal media admitting ObamaRomenyWellpoint care will hurt the middle class.
Once again, the 2party system = war, poverty, erosion of civil liberties, rotate party in power, repeat.
An awful LGBT-friendly President is still an awful President.
