Gay marriage might not be legal in Japan, but Toyko Disney is more than happy to perform the role the state isn’t fulfilling.
That’s right, you can have a gay wedding at Tokyo Disney Resort, complete with Mickey and Minnie as best man and maid of honor!
The AFP reports that a Japanese lesbian couple had inquired about hosting their fairytale gay wedding there, but were at first rebuffed.
Later, a spokesperson for Milial Resort Hotels, a subsidiary of Tokyo Disney, clarified to the AFP: “We have never refused an application for a same-sex wedding at hotels here.”
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
In the U.S., gay couples have been able to take advantage of Disney’s Fairytale Wedding packages since 2007. Take that, Japan!

Japan is an incredibly homophobic country, just because they aren’t outright with their hate and aren’t necessarily a violently bigoted society no on mentions it though.
