Trans Equality In Palm Beach!

countybmp.jpeg
What impeccable timing! The Palm Beach County Human Rights Council (phew!) just sent word that they’ve voted to ban transgender discrimination:

The Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners voted today to prohibit discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodations based on gender identity or expression.

“Equal opportunity should apply to everyone living and working in Palm Beach County,” said Jeff Koons, Vice Chair of the Board of County Commissioners.

The ordinance covers public and private employers with fifteen or more employees.

The county counts about five-to-ten thousand trans folk among its residents.
