Trans Rights Get Boost In FL.

Trans rights may be collapsing in Washington, but they’re on their way up down in Florida. Palm Beach County Commissioners voted 6-1 yesterday to include transgendered people in the region’s anti-discrimination laws. Rand Hoch of the county’s Human Rights Council said:

No one should be fired, harassed, or denied promotion simply because they don’t fit the stereotypes for masculinity or femininity.

The new law will help ensure that all Palm Beach County residents are judged on the quality of their work and given an equal chance to succeed.

The vote continues South Florida’s steady transition to full equality.
