What’s Bill O’Reilly up to? The Fox News blowhard this week predicted that California’s Proposition 8 will be defeated. He also said Connecticut’s recent court ruling may indicate our nation’s ready for gay marriage. Is he simply trying to scare voters into voting Yes on the ballot measure, which would overturn California’s same-sex nuptials. [Metblogs]
Obnoxious, hateful blowhard he may be, O’Reilly has actually expressed some pro-marriage sentiments in the past.
Please refrain from using the words O’Reilly, gay and tricks in the same post.

Actually, on gay marraige he has been suprisingly moderate. I saw a clip of an interview where he kept telling the “Yes on 8″ guy “Look do you have ANY logical reason to be against gay marraige other than the Bible? Because that won’t cut it”
Trust me, I was shocked when I saw it!
It’s too early to tell, but it doesn’t look good for the moment. The last Field Poll over a month ago showed those opposed at 55% but all the polls since then have tended the other way.
What is clear is that the unanimous bigoted hostility to same sex marriage by McCain, Obama, Palen and Biden is having a bad effect on the vote. The EuroAmerican christer bigots who were on the fence now have bipartisan authority to vote their bigotry. That’s very bad news for our side.

O’Really(?) is trying to be a Kingmaker (like NewsCorp’s Smurdoch) so as not to appear really stupid (ignorant, yes!) but one has to wonder about all this undercurrent of proclaiming wide victories for Obama (this is still a close Electoral College, folks) because you can still lose with a million more popular votes, as Al Gore and John Kerry both know.
Canvassers are still needed in Ohio, Florida and Pennslyvania!!!

I like O’Reilly. And I like that he just gave Hillary Duff the Patriot Award for her ads against kids using “gay” as an insult.
JJJJ – O’Reilly is a right wing demagogue who occasionally postures to the left so he can appear to be ‘fair and balanced’, like all the vermin at Faux News.
His viewing base is older right wingers with ossified brains. He won’t be deserting them any time soon. Instead he’ll continue pandering to their homophobia, racism and patriotism.
