Well, this is rather disturbing.
Two male nurses in San Diego have been charged with inflicting mental suffering on an elder after humping one another multiple times in front of a paralyzed, 99-year-old stroke victim, CBS8 reports.
The incidents occurred back in 2011. According to Deputy District Attorney Paul Greenwood, 42-year-old Russel Torralba and 43-year-old Alfredo V. Ruiz were caught on surveillance video fondling one another on several occasions in the victim’s room while she lay helpless and unable to move in her bed.
Last year, attorneys for the defendants argued at a preliminary hearing that, while the men’s behavior was certainly “inappropriate,” there was no evidence to suggest the century-old stroke victim was neglected, injured, or even aware of what was taking place just inches away from her.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Judge Lorna Alksne called the men’s behavior “shocking,” but dismissed a count of lewd and lascivious behavior.
Both Torralba and Ruiz are scheduled to be sentenced March 30.

I guess for some, sexual liberation means having no limits or self control at all. Anytime, anywhere. I wonder how eager they would have been to fool around if it was their grandmother in that hospital bed.

@charlie_jackpot: there are pics. Google Russell’s name.

Student male nurse here… sort of confused how this reaches the level of a criminal act, unless somehow the sexual act was directed towards the woman (flashing the patient maybe). Clearly they should be fired and have their license suspended, but I don’t think jail time should be on the table.
On personal note I must be pretty unattractive because not one nurse or doctor has grabbed my package on the job yet.

What idiots! All that time and money spent on an education and they couldn’t wait to get a hotel room? Dumb as sh!t. It
cflekken
What a couple of dumba$$es. How do you not know there are cameras in the room as an employee in care of the patients. I’m sure they were made aware at some point of their hiring and orientation process.

A family member worked in several hospitals over the years…hate to disappoint you but she describes a very sexual atmosphere with employees getting caught boinking in some very unusual locations.
Clark35
This is why they hate us. These guys are disgusting and should not be nurses or caring for anyone.
SouthwestSun
Well it’s certainly unprofessional conduct, however nobody was hurt so I would give them a warning and fire them only if it happened a second time. Punishment is unnecessary here since there was no real contact or actual harm, and the patient was unaware of it.
polarisfashion
They would have too much fun in jail. How about they get a year of community service and are closely supervised so they can’t boink in front of others while working.
lauraspencer
Creepy that they did this and even creepier that they weren’t very attractive. That poor patient!!
Google their names.
boring
That’s not the only stroke that happened in that room, let me tell you.
jwtraveler
yes, it was creepy and unprofessional, but do you think that was the most unethical thing that happened in that hospital that day?
I was treated in an ER in Philly a few years ago when I got very drunk and high got sick and passed out. The treatment I received from the ER staff could only be described as abusive, so much so that I wrote a complaint letter to the administrator. I doubt that they were even disciplined for their behavior.

Where is the self-control, where is the discipline? Rabbits are better at keeping themselves in check.

Only makes it worse to argue about what homophobic people say about us.
mmichael_24
And they really need to go to jail if you look in the video they sexually assaulted the woman
Tackle
Actually it was really a lot worse. At one point, I believe it was Alfredo, had his pants open, to the point where his penis was out, and as he leans over to kiss the stroke patient on her forehead, his penis falls into her hands. Because he made direct “physical” contact with the patient, that counts as sexual battery. It would have been a different story, ( still not right/professional) if they would have kept the contact between themselves…

It’s shit like this that makes people think gay men are nothing more than animals in heat with no self control or morals.
JaredNorthcutt30
I’m surprised Queerty even covered this given the fact that both nurses are over 40 and not conventionally attractive for masturbatory purposes.
JaredNorthcutt30
@lauraspencer Yes, because if they were hot, it would good times for all. Sarc off.
PLAYS WELL WITH OTHERS
Silly nurses, you are not supposed to stroke in front of a stroke victim…..
DuMaurier
@JaredNorthcutt30: Sarc on! No, it’s just flatly a gross and despicable thing to do–in reality. But medical scenarios, with me as the patient and an over-solicitous doctor or male nurse showing me some ‘special’ attention, is an perfectly acceptable and favorite fantasy of mine.
Or “was”. I made the mistake of Googling these guys, and the mugshots alone have killed it for me. Oh well, I guess it’s back to the firehouse…..
Captain Obvious
That’s nasty and creepy. I can’t believe people are defending them just because they’re gay.
Would you say the same about someone masturbating on a subway? Get a grip, please. Gay people can be wrong too(Like Dan Savage calling black people the N-word after Prop 8 passed) and these two deserve at the very least a slap on the wrist.
martinbakman
@jwtraveler: Exactly!
Look at that hospital tech in Philly that took part in a brutal attack on two gay men.
These two gay dudes in San Diego are irresponsible but a lot worse things go on.
mmichael_24
@martinbakman: why are you trying to basically justify what these men have done yeah a lot worse things go on it the world. But it seems like people are making this to be some type of joke just because they are gay. Which isn’t right.
