Selling clothes is very rarely about the clothes themselves. It’s about getting the name out there in the public consciousness.
How many blog posts and news items do you think have been written about this worldwide? A&F’s exposure (pun intended) is going to be huge because of this, and that always translates into sales.

John, these catalogs used to be available here in the States, but the usual “concerned citizens” had them banned for obscenity. I have a couple and many of the shoots are really stupids, but there are a few really beautiful shots. It’s lousy that the catalogs are no longer sold here.

What annoys me is that if you go to any suburban town, you see homophobic jocks wearing A+F clothing as they harass the effeminite kid in gym class or push him in the hallway. Of course these same jocks have nipple piercings and tattoos on their lower back.

Raf Simons, Dries Van Noten, Heidi Slimane. While they all benefited from advertising, in the end they sell because the stuff rocks. I hate Abercrombie, they market to self loathing gay guys with the promise that you can look like a straight, Ivy league frat boy if you wear our clothes. But what you end up looking like is a gay boy DESPERATELY trying to look like a straight, Ivy league frat boy. I like my beautiful gay men beautifully dressed.

I’m just very confused, I live in Paris and I have never seen a A&F store in Europe, so I’m wondering, how do I get my hands on this book?

A&F used to be cool in England about 8 years ago.
You had to go to the States to buy their stuff – so by wearing it boys thought they looked like they were moneyed, sophisticated, “travelled” etc.
But, actually, when you saw someone Abercrombie you just assumed they were cabin crew…

These comments are out after this was news months ago about the exposure of male ass crack to the unwilling, sexually repressed, overweight, hard drinking, wife beating, child abusing, but I am a church going soldier on God’s right hand (so I know)manly men of the Christian Right. Is it because God blesed them with with erectile dysfunction so bad that even 6000 mg of Viagra won’t cure them?

hmm wacko comments …. OK back to reality girls. This photo op boy could have used some serious running and squats prior to the shoot. That ass needs 6 weeks at the gym before I’d shoot it. Then it would be the oh so nice juicy peach that is only potential via these pics. AnF clothing gets me harder. Yawwwwwn . . . What? oh buzz off…..

Wel Well Well Kathy Lough are you and your husband still proud of your little gay son. This family got just waht they deserve their sons always had to be the very best no matter what. They took him from one school to another to play basketball becuase they wanted him to start.Mom and dad are both very crude business people in Marietta Ohio. This is a example of a very disfunctional family and upbringing of children. @Dan Leff: I could not agree more. This kid is so overrated anyway. That’s just how the typical Marietta system runs, though, and this guy got the best of it because Mommy and Daddy paved his way. I’m glad I’ve actually EARNED my way in life, and that there’s someone else out there who sees beyond the image that is Tyler Lough. Tyler Lough’s glory days can’t last forever. His dad, John, is one of the cockiest people I’ve ever met, and I’ve only ever interacted with him twice–twice too many times if you ask me.

Umm, so this is an ad campaign for a clothing line, where no one actually wears the clothes?
Fine and dandy by me…
