It’s not just gay bars getting raided — gay book and video stores are being targeted by authorities too. But it’s not because some illicit activity is taking place in the booths in the back, but because they’re allegedly making duplicates of porn DVDs that infringe on their creators copyright. Which is why B&B Bookstore, on Christopher Street in New York City, shook hands with federal marshals last week in raid that came after Pitbull Productions, makers of such fun products as Breed It Raw (Volumes 1 through 4) and Booty Juice Whores, are suing on intellectual property grounds. The studio Flava Works, meanwhile, is going after a pair of websites selling pirated porn.
All of which should actually be reassuring to porn studios relying on DVD sales, because wasn’t Xtube supposed to take all their market share?

Yet Another
None of this is reassuring to the porn producers. Tube sites are eating their revenue. Most porn shops are bootlegging porn because its no longer profitable to maintain a retails space for dvd sales and renting. Porn producers sat on their business model a split second too long. DVD sales will not be where it is. In fact, the future of porn “sales” is debatable. The most potentially successful model may be dependant on Porn as a service, and not a product. Subscription streaming and all you can download sites are the most successful channels now. Porn producers better get ahead of the ball and take free porn sites head on.
oh please
The statement that federal authorities are “targeting” gay porn, and the comparison to the raids on gay bars, is irresponsible and unfounded. Considering college students have been prosecuted for sharing of pop MP3s, there’s no indication of any specific anti-gay motivation here.

At least it wasn’t for the Gay content. The problem with the Gay porn sites is too many of them are run by total sleazebags who only look to fcuk those who pay by credit card. There are a lot of sites I like to sight see on, but will not make a purchase with an actual credit card. Got burned twice and never will again. When I spoke to the credit care fraud division they advised they do not prosecute for amounts under $50.00, yet there were dozens of purchase under $50.00 on my card!!
So how does one go sight seeing on the pornster sights without getting your card ripped off and leaving a personal trail??? I purchase a pre-paid card like Vanilla Visa to gain access. but that extra money is well worth it versus the hassles of having your actual credit card hijacked. Problem is that for the reason that they want to hijack your actual card many sites will not accept the prepaid cards. One of the best that does is Brokestraightboys.com they have lots of excellent videos, totally hot guys who sometimes actually look like they are straight. There is a charge of $3.95 for 3 days access.and if you click on the box for $1.00 extra you get access to five other excellent sites. For that money you get to view hundreds of very high quality full legnth videos………

I love how the tone of this article is all “OMG the gay bars are being raided guyz its the fifties alll over again lets go into hiding”.
I cant remember anymore than perhaps two incidents in which gay bars were “raided”, and both times the police caught a lot of flak and apologized profously.

@Terrwill: I don’t understand why you would pay a cent for any porn when Xtube and the hundreds of imitators it’s spawned, like Xvideos, Itsallgay, etc., offer it all for free, including full length movies (your Brokestraightboys, which is of course completely fake, is all over these sites.) Clearly they’re going to have to make their money through some form of advertising (which is why I don’t use adblock if I go on one of those sites and I try on click on some of those ads so they get paid). But anyone who pays even a penny, no offense to you, a complete fool.

What I’d like to know is if the police are only targeting the gay porn shops because I used to live in NYC and I can assure you all the heterosexual sex videos/dvd’s sold are total copies too.
