John Bosco Nyombi’s shaking in his boots right now.
The British government this week informed Nyombi, an openly gay Ugandan national, that he will deported, despite the fact that the Ugandan government has a strict “no homo” police. What’s more, Nyombi’s brother worked as an opposition leader before being murdered by pro-government supporters.
Nyombi arrived in England in September of 2001 and has been living quietly in the country for seven years. He works with special needs adults.
Nyombi had once been granted asylum, but for some inexplicable reason, the Home Office appealed against it and Nyombi will be shipped off this Sunday.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
This is, in a word, senseless.

It is always tricky to comment on these cases, knowing so little about the details – particularly as so many “asylum seekers” lie so much to get permission to stay that is it impossible to get to the truth.

To whom it may concern
The deportation of John Bosco Nyombi (Bosco to his friends) is an outrage, He has made a contribution to society since he has been in the country, and genuinely fears for his life if sent back. His brother has already been murdered!!!!… how much more has to happen for him to be allowed to seek asylum in this country… The government has happily taken income taxes off him since he has been here, not to mention National Insurance! He has kept to all regulations set down and signed on as required, unlike alot of others who come in falsly seeking asylum, then go into hiding, work illegally, avoid paying income taxes etc etc..
The government have treated him worse than British treat their animals!! He will now be deported either to live out his life in custody or handed over to the tribes in Uganda, where he will be certain to meet his death… not because he ever commited a crime, but purely just because he is gay… It’s an absolute disgrace… call us a humanitarian society!!!!!… Deporting Bosco is cruel and he will almost certainly meet his death when he arrives in Uganda.
Yours Sincerely
Karen Ambler
