Unbelievable.

We know the right wing's wacky, but we have no idea how Virtue Online turned a queer-inclusive non-discrimination bill into this: "A new Colorado law is helping homosexual activists achieve their goal of forcing Christians to teach biblical condemnation of homosexuality only behind the closed doors of their sanctuaries." [Virtue Online]

I see their problem with that…but then, i really, really don't. Surely discrimination shouldn't ONLY be kept within "the closed doors of their sanctuaries", but aboloished altogether?

…maybe? :/

Funny. I bet no one bothered to actually read the law. For one, it explicitly protects religion from the same discrimination, thus "elevating it to the same status as skin color." Secondly, it is fairly tame in its enforcement. It really pertains primarily to placed that would get some funding from the state, or where everyone can see it (sorry, no Fred Phelps pamphlets at the Colorado equivalent of Disney….). I love it when people blow these things out of proportion.

Their biblical "teachings" should definitely be kept behind closed sanctuary doors, since it's all such utterly laughable balderdash from beginning to end. Limit the harm to those happily who fill their empty brainpans with bullshit, and keep it off the streets where it can cause harm.

What an enigma. The Church crying discrimination while it teaches discrimination. Doh!

It's the old story of "Don't do as I do. Do as I say."

It doesn't even make sense. Their "sanctuaries"? What the hell are their "sanctuaries"? Do they mean, their homes? Their churches? Their private schools? Yeah, sad those are the only places where they can be idiots.

To me, a health spa is a "sanctuary," but I'm thinking bigotry would really mess with my seaweed/carrot wrap.

And does the law specifically state that the sanctuary doors must be closed? Would it be a misdemeanor if they were slightly ajar?

These Religious nutbags are so amazingly stupid that they don't know that there are multitudionous other important things to concern themseves about. Like being Chirstlike, instead of hateful. (Wow!)
You find one of them who is not a moron and mentally distrubed and you'll have broken a world record.
The Repiggies just need thier votes and are happy to keep them busy with hatefulness to toward a marginal group (any-they could give a fuk).
