Upset?

Evangelical PR guru Mark DeMoss on Barack Obama’s odds among the traditionally Republican set: “If one third of white evangelicals voted for Bill Clinton the second time, at the height of Monica Lewinsky mess–that’s a statistic I didn’t believe at first but I double and triple checked it–I would not be surprised if that many or more voted for Barack Obama in this election. You’re seeing some movement among evangelicals as the term [evangelical] has become more pejorative. There’s a reaction among some evangelicals to swing out to the left in an effort to prove that evangelicals are really not that right wing.” [HuffPo]

Oh, you know some Obie-haters are really loving that picture of “St. Obama”.

For the record, Bill Clinton’s second election was in November 1996. The Monica Lewinsky story broke in January 1998.

Please. the only thing the republicans have are the stupid rednecks with their version of the American dream redreamed by under50 IQ’s. This bunch is just getting powered up.

When you talk to a friend or coworker who happens to be Christian, mention that the Christians have been “used” by the Republicans. They should be angry at the Republicans.

Being Christian is not about hating gays. The Republicans just used that hot button to get elected. But, after they get elected, they cut social programs, increase military spending, cut taxes (but only for the wealthy), and screw the working class and the poor. Republican positions on most issues are actually anti-Christian.

Being Christian is about charity, love, people, and all that liberal stuff. Liberal, Democratic positions align with Christian values very nicely.

You’re right Steve, however, the token empowerment that the republicans offered has pushed most “christians”over the edge.
Their leaders just want power and an edge to get anti abortion, anti feminist, anti-gay legislation in. The feinds who lead them are full of hatred, and there is no love lost when what is at stake is power.

Unfortunately , it has been the course of Chirstianity to lead persecutions , witchhunts and inquisitions, to say nothing of crusades and the conquest of other nations.

The mesage of love has really only been maintained by Buddists and many Moslems. Jews .not in the bloody pursuit of zionism have been loving in some respects. Some were even Socialists..
Chistianity has rarely had anything to do with Chist’s teachings.

Organized religion is the root of all evil in this world.
