“Gay rights groups and newspaper editorials on Tuesday condemned the Vatican for its decision to oppose a proposed U.N. resolution calling on governments worldwide to de-criminalise homosexuality. The row erupted after the Vatican’s permanent observer to the United Nations told a French Catholic news agency the Holy See would oppose the resolution, which France is due to propose later this month on behalf of the 27-member European Union. Archbishop Celestino Migliore said the Vatican opposed the resolution because it would ‘add new categories of those protected from discrimination’ and could lead to reverse discrimination against traditional heterosexual marriage.” [Reuters

Until the catholics start turning in their child molesting priests directly to the police instead of transferring them around the country, they have NO moral authority and can go fuck themselves.
That’s right. The catholics can go fuck themselves.

since when did the concept of “observer” lead to the ability to “pronounce judgement”

Ah! Gotta love Pope Adolf – I mean Benedict. Talk about one butt-fucking obssessed man…
Time for Vatican III. And I won’t hold my breath waiting for it.

Just who does Miss Vatican think she is?

@walt zipprian: Easy on the Catholic hate my friend…I may be the worst catholic in the world but the real a-hole here is that mofo Benedict. I knew the minute he was chosen to be the next pope that I would hate his guts…he is truly despicable!

@Gast84: I’m a recovering catholic as well. My point is that a group of cult members who collectively protect baby fuckers has no moral authority.
Especially when they are on a high horse to condemn me for my god given orientation.

@walt zipprian:
Well said. Let me say it a different way, too: They can go fuck themselves.

Isn’t he Catholic?

Those mother- ooops i forgot- kidf*ckers went too far!
While I still can – or could at least- understand their dysfunctional brains can’t stand the gay marriage thing… That one isn’t acceptable AT ALL!
What about the gays hanged in Iran or jailed in Egypt???
Those sons of carpenter (feel free to replace with an infamous street job) should be hanged instead!

Can we bring back my favorite Popetta photo of her wearing her red shoes and glowing gown?

I don’t understand…
If the Vatican has decriminalized pedophilia, why is it against the decriminalization of homosexuality?
Mike
Who could possibly be surprised? I have a special insight into the damage that the Catholic Church creates. Pulled out of her home by an Irish Priest, who deemed her home an inadequate environment for a child to grow spiritually and thirve, she and her sisters were placed in a Catholic run “orpanage,” which is a euphimism for an industrial school. She was beaten nightly, verbally abused nearly every waking minute of everyday, then pulled from school at 9 and forced to work in a laundry. She and her sisters were routinely given out to the town pedophile, who donated large sums to the Catholic Church.
Unfortunately, the abused grew to be the abuser, and my own childhood was scarred by much of what my mother knew–violence and abuse. As a result, my reaction was never to lay a hand on a living thing–I even catch the errant spider or cricket in my home and let him loose outside. Nevertheless, my own abuse was so traumatic that I suffer from PTS–which I manage really well, but it is very painful nonetheless. Sadly, my sisters and my cousins have not been quite so fortunate. It is hard for me to fault my mother, but it is quite easy to heave a huge amount of blame on the Catholic Church.
I can say with first hand knowledge that the destruction laid upon the human landscape by the Catholic Church is vast and historic. I expect no more from Benedict that I would of Rev. Fred Phelps and, though it will sound excessively dramatic, Hitler. His is a position of the politically powerful, and has as little to do with his love for God and God’s creation.
Obviously, it is not just the Catholic Church, religious fundamentalism will do all that they can to step upon the civil rights of others and ignore please for humanity for the simple reason that in this world their reach is for power, and despite what they do, they are convinced that they will be saved in the next.

I’m banking on the Sequel “The U.N Strikes Back” and we all know who the Emperor is with those Devil-pope wears Prada shoes! Only if Meryl Streep could be in a movie on this subject matter will we finally believe all those pedophilic-enabled years and the 1000s of damaged children (often now afraid of God!)
‘Doubt’ trailer (did he do it?) with Meryl!

@Mike:
Mike, you story is tragic, indeed, and it was hard to read it without feeling a lump form in my throat. Your mother and sisters went through a similar hell as those unfortunate women who were thrown into the infamous Magdalene Laundries run by the Catholic Church in Ireland. Sounding more like something out of the Dark Ages, the last one was closed down a mere 8 years ago.
When one considers the insatiable hunger for power and wealth in this life that the Church displays, one has to ask themselves the question of whether they really believe the BS about the rewards of the afterlife they always tout?
If they really believed in a afterlife, it seems to me that they would not be so caught up in the materialistic world and would more involved with a spirituality that makes them better, more loving human beings.
When one looks at their disgusting track record, it would be hard to imagine such horrible people populating a place called heaven, and if that is the kind of trash that occupies heaven, I’ll take a rain-check, thank you.
