In the early morning of June 12, 2016, the deadliest mass shooting in America took the lives of at least 50 people. These people are not a statistic or a number. We will not let them be nameless or faceless numbers. They are our partners, friends, our family, our allies. That is why we have created a special In Memoriam page listing each person along with their photo.
Please visit the page. Add your memories and reflections. And if you know of a victim who is missing from this list (or if we are missing their picture), write to holla AT queerty DOT com and we’ll add them.

Please advise Queerty readers where we can donate money to help the victims’ families. Thanks.

do u want award now??? all i can see in press and tv is gay white people crying and waving rainbows and looking to make this all about THEIR pain. orlando victims were LATINO (and some black and asian too). we don’t even wave rainbows! people cannot even drop their self-importance in the face of such atrocity..

Let’s remember all their names and work for peace and love in their memory.
Not endorsing this link but Huffington Post had a list of places where you can donate to honor, remember and help the deceased and their families. Some have hospital bills, loved ones traveling from across the US and overseas, and dependents who need support and resources, so if you can, please do what you can.

@Omar Suarez: I am so sorry for your pain, which is coming out as anger. Please do not direct your anger at the people who are members of the LGBT family. Please do not think of the things you see on TV as something “..gay white people….” are doing to make it “…about THEIR pain.” What you see on TV are the people, of all nations, all colors, and all religious backgrounds crying for the loss of their friends, their family (both blood relatives) and the LGBT family. We ALL belong to a great big family, who are now all in pain from this horrendous crime.
If you must vent your anger, do so at the politicians who are being paid off by the gun manufacturers and NRA lobbyist to keep assault weapons from being put on the no sale to people on the “don’t fly list”, and other things of that nature. We ALL need to begin a nationwide movement to put BIG BIG pressure on Congress to PASS GUN CONTROL LAWS with regard to assault weapons. NOW is the time to TAKE ACTION to get assault weapons BANNED.
God bless you and all of those who were directly impacted by this tragedy, be it through the loss of loved one, or a friend.

@Omar Suarez: So you think only Latino gay people should mourn, and that somehow the grief shared by other gay folks is self serving? You need professional help, or are some sort of troll. The shooter is unlikely to have cared a whole lot about the ethnicity of his victims.
YOU seem the self serving one here. Would you have just shrugged had it been predominantlty white victims? Your comment says nothing good about you.

Liberals always want to turn everything into a gun control issue. Conservatives always want to turn everything into an immigration issue. This horrific event was neither. This was a hate crime. Period. The perpetrator was born in New York 29 years ago, so it’s a little late to close the borders. As for guns, just ask the survivors of the Oklahoma City bombing. A psycho blew up a building and killed a lot of people with a truckload of fertilizer. Extreme gun control would have done absolutely nothing to prevent those deaths. People who want to do bad things are going to figure out a way, and people filled with hate already have their targets set.

damn right i’m angry for many reasons and i don’t need white gay’s permission so save ur kumbaya bs. remember ur advice next time ur in tears because some white gays can’t get a cake or next time media washes all ur stupid rainbows out of the story. lgbt latinos face bigger problems than being denied baked goods. get over yourselves already. always has to be about u and if not u will find some way to make it so and then u will have enough nerve to speak of diversity and tolerating. such self centered hypocrites.

@dwes09: you don’t get it. what a surprise! this killer also hate people of color and girls. this is what i’m trying to tell u but ur stuck in arrogance of thinking it’s all about UR STRUGGLES! so typical. these people also targeted because of race and gender.

The religious extremists/terrorists need to be stopped from committing these crimes against humanity which includes LGBTs. Oh yes, I hear those saying it cannot be stopped, but we need to keep trying as it will reduce the numbers of these hateful mongers.
