Matthew Lannon, 12, a sixth-grader at Wheeler School in Providence, testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee Thursday evening at the Rhode Island State House in favor of a bill to legalize same-sex marriage.
It was a family affair as the bill was sponsored by his aunt, state Sen. Donna Nesselbush, and Matthew’s two moms were there to lend their support as Matthew articulately urged the Committee to “choose love.”

Great speech but it would have been much more effective if his moms had given it and then encourage the boy to speak freely from his heart and to be questioned with the basics of his interactions with his moms as well as his overall happiness.

Great kid.

I am particularly concerned that Rhode Island is reviewing this issue on a year to year basis. Let’s hope that the Supreme Court can make a good decision for same-sex based families and for this articulate young man.
