WATCH: A Fast-Paced Look Behind The Scenes With Lindsay Lohan And James Deen

Take a behind-the-scenes peek at The Canyons, the new film starring Lindsay Lohan, who’s fresh out of rehab today (congrats, LiLo!), adult film star James Deen (making his, ahem, legit debut) with a screenplay by out writer Bret Easton Ellis, of Less Than Zero and American Psycho fame (infamy?), that’s just as speedy as you’d imagine a collaboration between those three. Fasten your seat belts, this baby moves fast.

Ellis tells Michael Musto in an interview for Gawker that straight porn star Deen was at first apprehensive about filming a men-on-man love scene for the drama.

“He’s had a lot of big-money offers from gay video companies and he was worried that if he went there, maybe his price would lower somehow,” Ellis said. “I assured him that was not going to happen. He had a feeling that this was going to be a kind of porn film, and when we got rid of that idea at our first dinner, he was OK with it. I thought, Oh, my God, he thinks it’s a porn and he’ll have to sleep with another guy. He realized, ‘Oh, so it’s all simulated. Of course I’ll do it.’”

The film, which is directed by Paul Shrader and which received a rave in Variety, will be available to watch on August 2 in select theaters, Cable VOD, and digital outlets including SundanceNOW, iTunes, Amazon Streaming, PS3 Playstation Unlimited, XBOX Zune, Google PLAY and YouTube.
