WATCH: A Twink Named Brandon Hilton Has Created The Gay Equivalent Of Rebecca Black’s “Friday”

Electro-pop twink Brandon Hilton has released a video for his autotuned-to-death single, “Set Fire To The Night,” and holy hell is it god-awful. Maybe even Rebecca Black awful. Enjoy the schadenfreude.

According to the press release we received, Hilton’s “hit single ‘GLAMOUR ZOMBIE’ was also featured on the Aug. 22nd episode of Oxygen’s hit reality show The Bad Girls Club,” which is no small feat.

Brandon calls the track “a dancefloor killer.” It’s a killer, alright.

He must have ripped that outfit off from his gay uncle who was a club kid in the 1980s.

      Embarrassing.

Rebecca Black was better because she didn’t dress like that and she was like 14 so she had a good excuse.

I couldn’t even get halfway through this video and it made me feel somewhat homophobic. How is that even possible?

he IS an Electronic artist, so it does make sense that he uses vocal effects, it doesnt sound like autotune as much as it sounds like synthesizers and vocoders. I actually like it. I love Electronic music.

just followed him on Twitter and Facebook.

      http://www.twitter.com/BrandonHilton

for others who may not be haters as well, its sad reading these comments coming from a blog that supposedly supports love and acceptance in the community. I found the video to be quite creative coming from an unsigned artist who directs and creates all of their own art

pretty sure Rebecca Black was WAY worse, atleast he’s creative, cute and has cool video’s. It seems he is trying to do something positive for our community with his music. after watching this one I stumbled onto another one called ‘ONE’ that is amazing. It really should be on the radio

check it out, its 10 times better and the message is powerful!

watch here: http://youtu.be/0Whu3N8o_nE?hd=1 (the video’s much different for this one too)

I think this brand of “music” has come full circle and will explode on itself to make way for the next new thing. I mean when anyone and everyone was doing the teen pop routine from the late 90s to early 2ks it didn’t take long for people to get burned out.

Can’t wait till this crap is over.

The lyrics are not even any worse than what it is on the radio. Unfortunately the production sounds like it was put together on a Palm Pilot.

I love Artist, Brandon Hilton; he is the “Featured Guest” for my talk show this month. I have interviewed him and seen him perform live. Each song and music video gets better each time. And I absolutely love this music video-from the beginning reminding us to let go of our painful pasts and take control of our lives to the craziness he feels throughout; something we can all relate to at one time or another in our lives. I have been a fan of his from myspace days thru now and will continue to be and he has grown so much as an Artist and person. He is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. And he has helped spread lots of love in this world, which we definitely need!

Does anyone else find comments on ‘haters’ incredibly annoying? It’s stupid to imply that if you express a negative view of something that you hate it. Go and run off to a fan site if you are too juvenile to read criticism.

Now Brandon Hilton is probably going to think that I’m ‘ignorant’, the same way he replies to people who dislike his music (if not, he’ll delete your comment/remove comments or the dislike option).

William Belli, I don’t see what point you’re trying to make. Every community has rude people, and the gay one is not recognised as having rudeness which is more prevalent than others. Pretty disturbing that you use this as a reason for inequality.

The guy writing this ‘review’, a Mr. Evan Mulvihill, apparently graduated from Cornell University with a BA in English and Chemistry. Meanwhile, this fool’s greatest accomplishment in life is that he earns his income as a blogger for Queerty.com?? What a waste of that education dood. He creates no art, he just tears it down and collects a paycheck for it. I’m guessing he is just bitter because he doesn’t have enough talent to get a REAL writing position with a reputable company, despite the fact that his PARENTS gave him all that money to go to school. (Common, you KNOW he didn’t pay his own way.)

Some day, Evan might become wise enough to understand what it means to be a REAL artist. To create something from nothing. To bring yourself up by your own hard work and creative effort. To grow your craft over time. Until then, I have not doubt that he’ll continue to crap all over everyone else’s attempt. It gives him a delusional sense of POWER to destroy other people’s dreams. What a fool.

Brandon. Ignore him. Keep doing your thing. Your fans, myself included, are having a great time watching you grow.

after watching this I looked up some of his other tracks on youtube, he’s actually pretty good, and has several songs that dont have any auto-tune on them at all. like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBy7LS0ehTM which is an amazing song! he should shoot a video for this one too

      @Oh, ok.:

I’m hardly a fan girl. Just never really understood the mentality of the people who spend a bit too much time sitting alone at home behind their computers trash-talking the people who are actually doing something.

For something he did with no budget, this is pretty good. Comparing this to Rebecca Black is just weird. Rebecca didn’t write Friday, she didn’t produce the video and was just a 13 year-old girl who was having fun playing pop star… I always thought the glee with which people bullied her about it was like watching the Mean Girls pile on.

Turn on the radio and hear electronic music like this often uses the vocoder effects that he’s using here. This isn’t “auto tune” to correct his pitch, it’s an effect to make the voice sound like a robot. Listen to that “nightcall” song by Kavinski from the drive soundtrack that was the toast of the chill out room last year… Much the same, it uses the vocoder as an effect. Calling it auto tune just makes you look petty and clued-out.

If this isn’t your style… Fine. But you’re starting to sound like Cinderella’s step sisters, jealous that she’s made a dress nicer than yours.

just to make sure i’m not missing anything: boyfriend slaps him in the face while watering houseplants. they then go driving in a car. he then wears a snake, poses in a lot of outfits with sunglasses, sits naked in a chair, and then goes to the mental health ward with fake fire in it. it is never fully explained why his boyfriend hits him (he’s looking at some porno pics right before) and that plot-line never gets resolved.
