Alexander Dreymon’s been casting a spell on American Horror Story: Coven as the tempting boy next door Luke Ramsey, whose mother is a religious zealot played by Patti Goddamn Lupone. Before bringing temperatures and cauldrons to a boil, however, Dreymon portrayed a German hustler in Christopher and His Kind, the BBC adaptation of Christopher Isherwood’s The Berlin Stories, opposite Dr. Who‘s own Matt Smith. Credited as Alexander Doetsch, his character eventually turns on Isherwood, as rough trade is wont to do when faced with a Nazi takeover. Let’s just hope he’s nicer to the young ladies of the coven — we’ve seen what happens when you mess with the wrong witch.
How about we take this to the next level?

Well, we’ve always known the Doctor goes both way since he snogged the beautiful Capt. Jack Hartness.
PRINCE OF SNARKNESS aka DIVKID
What an unhelpfully misleading title. If I didn’t know better I’d accuse you of cheap tabloid tactics.
Fitz
Having had gay sex, or even having PLAYED someone having gay sex is so shameful according to this site!
Daveliam
I’m finally starting to learn how to speak the Queerty language.
“American Horror Story” Hunk’s Gay Sex Past Comes Back To…Haunt Him (NSFW)
Translates to:
“American Horror Story” Hunk played a gay character in a BBC film once.
Cheap ploy to try to get hits, I’m assuming, but the title is very misleading.
Mr. E. Jones
Why is it every time straight people film a gay sex scene, it’s always from behind? They do realize we can have sex missionary as well, right? Perhaps not.
balehead
Queerty sounds very homophobic today…
Cam
Wow Queerty,
Let’s see, you shill for the Mormons,
You minimize attacks on gay rights
And now make it seem like playing a gay role is akin to staring in a Porn movie.
Is Maggie Gallagher doing headlines today?
2eo
@Cam: Have you noticed Lester can’t even spell his own surname correctly.
Les Fabian Brathwaite
@2eo: I certainly haven’t.

I use to come on Queerty daily but now I only check it out once a month or so. The whole site is designed to keep us looking like creatures of the dark and I don’t like it. What a terrible misuse of a headline. Trailer trash journalism at it’s finest.

@yaletownman: Same here. I remember when queerty relaunched their site after shutting down:
While we are committed to maintaining the best of Queerty, we also recognize that you have demanded change. In recent months the Queerty patented wit devolved into predictable snark, eviscerating everyone and everything in its path. Some of the comments simply piled on. We will maintain the independent voice at all cost, going after with a vengeance the powerful, the hypocritical and the just plain foolish. But now we’ll also strive for a better sense of journalistic balance and fairness. In other words we’re going to keep afflicting the comfortable; only now we’ll take care to comfort the afflicted as well.
The more thing change the more they stay the same.
Kenover
Are you now reduced to plagiarizing stories from the National Enquirer? Wow… an actor played a gay man. SHOCKING!!! And Michelle Obama is having Hillary Clinton’s alien love child!!!
KiraNerysRules
I think the uproar is a bit overkill. Clearly, it’s a nod to “American Horror Story: Coven.” AHS has witches, ghosts, zombies, etc. – things that haunt. I don’t think the headline writer is saying the guys should be ashamed of anything.
stranded
@KiraNerysRules:
though i would like to think that was that writer’s intention, it was a poorly thought out. The title makes implications that the actor is ashamed of his work on movie Christopher and his kind.
KiraNerysRules
Lol. You guys are too sensitive. That was clearly the writer’s intention – to make a nod to AHS. I don’t think it was poorly thought out. I think some people just didn’t get the nod because they don’t watch AHS. I think it would be wildly sensitive if one does watch AHS and is offended by the headline.

This article’s title is simply ridiculous…. Sensationalism! Why to over dramatize something, per usual, Queerty.
jake3614
@jake3614: WAY* not why, autocorrect ><;'

@AxelDC: Excuse me but it’s Harkness. Dang! Bitches be gettin all mean up in here. Your acerbic wit never fails to underwhelm. At least Queerty offers you a forum to make your rude comments try that crap on other sites and see how far you get. You can’t even say mouth breather on Huff post.
balehead
This whole article was very hetero-phobic!!! Shame on Queerty!!
Ferallove
I’d love a visit from the Dr. He’s got some promised sexy on him after this lol
Ferallove
I’d love a visit from the Dr. He’s got some promised sexy on him after this lol oh an how has this come back to haunt him?? It’s just hot and he’s not a compelling actor to begin with so let’s see how far these looks get him, Channing is the poster boy for a face no substance so all a board!!! Ain’t shit express. Lol
SteveDenver
What a shame that QUEERTY trades in sensationalism.
Dreymon’s performance in CHRISTOPHER AND HIS KIND is an excellent performance by an actor. QUEERTY’s approach supports young actors — regardless of personal sexuality — to reject gay and lesbian roles, because it is gay media that will be the first to make it trashy and a danger to their career.
Oddly enough QUEERTY seems to forget that Dreymon’s character shows up later in the show with his wife and child, seeking Isherwood’s help escaping the Nazis.
Shame on this trash talk.
frickeepoo
@Fitz: Good point! Very good point. How are these past roles ‘haunting’ him?
Mezaien
@balehead: QUEERTY, homophobic everyday! after all they are just American, white asses Christian.
Maude
There is very little news out there in the first place, and even less that would advance a story already reported, so Queerty runs with whatever it can troll from whatever sources it can.
Liam
@Daveliam: When the heck did the Puritans buy up QUEERTY? They can’t actually believe that anyone in the Gay community other than a envious old queen cares cares that Matt Smith or Alexander Dreymon played gay characters in a movie … especially in a classic story.

@Les Fabian Brathwaite: @Mr. E. Jones: It’s probably been two weeks since I last posted. I tried to make one comment today. i got an error message telling me to slow down, because I was posting too fast. If I slowed down any more, I would me in reverse.

More click bate to get gay men to tune in, follow, buy, etc.

+To be gay or not to be gay, that is the question! The irony here is that most of these ‘suspected’ actors just may be gay!But because they are so paranoid about being found out, they go into a defensive mode and get on the roof tops to shout that they are str8–have a GF (ha!) and quickly do the PDA thing with some co-star to prove their straightness, while their BF waits at home! If the gossip columns are only half right, the ‘closets’ in Hollywood are bursting at the seams! Oh, gad, I feel for the ladies when the ‘closets’ empty out and their fantasy icons reveal they are gay! WOW!! lol.
