The cinematic adaptation of Les Miz doesn’t come out till December but the new trailer is out, and now America can see what a seriously underfed Anne Hathaway with an Auschwitz hair-don’t looks like.
Anne does a pretty good job singing—though, by rights, we can’t hear anyone sing “I Dreamed a Dream” and not compare them unfavorably to Susan Boyle.
Y’know what would make this movie better? If it was in 3-D!
w.e.
well, they’ve succeeded in making it look thoroughly miserable. Not exactly light summer fare.
Andrew
Susan Boyle’s version was always wrong, the song is unbelievably sad with
the character dying wishing her life wasn’t as miserable as it was. I thought this
version was quite good showing the true feeling of the song.

Anne Hathaway is an incredible singer. Looking forward to this … but Russel Crow? Rather see Hugh jackman and hear his voice, unless he is the one in it… cant tell.
ousslander
both crow and jackman are in in it. will def see

oh….Anne, got me! I’m IN!

Anne Hathaway is in a league of her own & no
other twentysomething movie star can touch her.

@Andrew: Thank you! Boyle’s version is not how the song was intended. Anne is acting in that clip and it looks great! A little nasally (we’re all critics, right?) but I loved it and LOVE Anne.
Michael
I have to admit I am pleasantly surprised….Anne sounds perfect and the shots of the film look spectacular. I cannot wait!

@w.e.: Which is why it’s coming out in December.

I never miss a Russell Crowe musical.

Please tell me you didn’t write “Auschwitz hair-don’t”

Susan Boyle notwithstanding, I actually liked the Glee edition with Idina Mendel and Lea Michele, still makes me cry. But Anne Hathaway is going to have to admit the Oscar is hers just for the raw emotion from this clip. Good lord, I never heard it on Broadway tearing at your soul this way…
