In the video above, the cast and crew of Looking — including stars Jonathan Groff, Frankie Alvarez, and Murray Bartlett — take us behind the scenes of the upcoming HBO dramedy.
Set in San Francisco, director and executive producer Andrew Haigh stresses the importance of the location, saying of the City by the Gay Bay: “It has a tone and an energy all its own and I wanted the show to reflect that energy and that feeling.”
Though there have been “gay characters in gay shows on TV before,” according to Groff their stories have “never [been] told in this sort of way.” Future spank-bank deposit Bartlett plays up the show’s appeal to “different groups of people” while Alvarez adds, “We’re telling some new stories here and it’s exciting.”
The excitement begins January 19 at 10:30 EST on HBO.
How about we take this to the next level?

I am so grateful for primewire. You can watch stuff from HBO without having to subscribe…Looking is looking rather bland and derivative at this point…I grew up in the bay area and lived in S.F. for 16 years it will be interesting to see how authentic the show really is.
