WATCH: Betty White Is Changing Her Name For LGBT Youth

Betty White is changing her name to “Betty Purple” in recognition of GLAAD’s annual anti-bullying campaign Spirit Day on October 17.

Spirit Day happens every year and is a united stand against bullying and a show of support for LGBT teens and young adults everywhere.

This year, Hollywood’s hottest nonagenarian and her fellow cast mates from Hot In Cleveland are encouraging everyone to participate.

See their video below.

Betty is a splendid person! She was an ally long before it was fashionable to be an ally, and her support for us added some needed nuances to my anti-het militancy back then.

I still think of her as Rose, so Rose Purple sounds just as great! :o)

I just adore this woman. I always think of her as my TV Grandma. I lost my last two grandparents in the last 2 months, but every time I see Betty on TV no matter what show, she makes me smile when I think of them.
