While speaking during his Bar Mitzvah at Congregation Beth Israel in Portland on November 9, 13-year-old Duncan McAlpine Sennett became not only a man but a marriage equality advocate. During this important rite of passage for Jewish boys who begin their teenage years, Sennett used his “D’var Torah” speech to analyze a chapter in Genesis about Jacob’s marriage to Leah and Rachel, two sisters who also happened to be his cousins, observed that “the definition of traditional marriage is nothing like what people think it is today.”
Sennett also noted that there are numerous same-sex couples who are close friends with his family and they are “wonderful people, wonderful parents and wonderful couples” and that he’s “proud to be part of a congregation that is 100 percent in support of same-sex marriage.” Mazel tov!
boring
However, he did spend all his Bar Mitzvah money on a PS4.

Isn’t it a shame and embarrassment that we Christians have to be told what it means to be a Christian… by a young, intelligent, humorous Bar Mitzvah youth/man! We have a lot to measure up to when we hear him!
Eiswirth
Smart and well-spoken young man.
Cam
Good for him, spoken like a man.
