It’s here. It’s sorta queer (Britney v. Britney!). And I’ll say this much: It’s sort of refreshing to see the return of Britney’s brand of bubble gum pop after lady gagging for so long.
This was utter crap, I can’t believe my generation likes this piece of manufactured crap. The fighting scene was the best part and its a total rip off of Mariah Carey. Its sad how cut the video is, can’t really see her face in the video in one scene for more than 1 second.

If you want to hear a beautiful and completely different interpretation of this song, go and listen to the awesome voice of Sam Tsui. His version, which has 4.3 million views, puts the original to shame. This Yale undergrad is burning up Youtube with his talent, as composed and produced by his friend and fellow Yalie, Kurt Schneider. As an added bonus, they are both hot. I had not heard of either of them 2 months ago, but I found their channel and have not stopped listening since:

@spider_orchid: you must be knock up or drunk, or basically senseless.
I have no hate for Britney after all I was a fan, but lately after her recovery the quality of her music fall short of magnificent… Hopefully that would change soon…

What crap. The constant cutting was annoying and made the video hard to process. The dress, paint, and b vs b didn’t seem to have anything to do with this specific song. I think it could have used more product placement.
But OMG itz Britney!!! Keep your manufactured idol worship to yourself, I am sick of hearing this undeserved hype.

Seriously, I’m a Britneyy fan (moreorlesS) but girl, you got LAZY. This was the most insipid and generic video I’ve seen in a while. Utterly lazy. Oh you stood around and danced with no energy…. with some lights and some cameras and… paint?
And what the hell was with the fighting herself thing. That was just stupid. What was the point except “oh it looks cool”. Kylie and Madonna have both done “fight yourself” videos that were immensely cooler and important, thematically.
And on a more shallow note, she looked awful in it. Her hair doesn’t suit the sliiiightly more grown up (and slightly chubby) face she has, and the outfits were atrocious.
Back to the drawing board Brit.

yep, I was disappointed with the video as well and I’ve been a Britney fan since ’98. The concept was just boring (and weird) and I agree..she didn’t have the dancing skills that she once had and it’s a shame that her choreographer hyped us all up a week before the vid saying that the Britney of “Slave” was back. Um..not so much. She really better come out with a new song and video quick and work harder at dancing (instead of just standing in one spot with arms moving) b/c that is why her fans love her so much..the feriosity of the dancing! Oh and the director of HIAM sucked. Get the Womanizer director back and really make a quality Britney video.

You don’t have to be very smart to notice that! Britney fighting with herself=Britney fighting with her star image. Britney in the white dress and the TVs = Innocent Britney trapped by the media. Britney and the color paints = Moment of freedom… It’s not very hard to decode it… Just because you didn’t understand it, it doesn’t mean it sucked… It’s way better than Telephone which its main topic is mass murder! Ha!
Some people are decoding the video this way:
What’s meaning behind the scene
Start of her career – She hit the earth like a? meteor
Becoming a celebrity – She’s all glammed up putting make-up and perfume
Rising popularity – She’s rising as her old music videos surround her
She fell in love – The picture of the guy on the Sony touchscreen TV
Personal struggle – She was fighting with herself
Breakdown/Meltdown – She collapses and ruins her wedding dress and past work
Comeback – She comes back harder than eva
Britney’s career is more iconic and symbolic than any other contemporary artists out there, And if you think about it, it has a lot of depth!

Clearly this is what happens when yesterday’s pop stars realize that Gaga has set the bar higher then anyone could have imagined and then attempt to reach that bar, only to end up using the tired musical and visual formulas that made them a a pop star years ago. There is nothing new hear other then no shame when it comes to product placement.

AMAZING! Britney’s best video to date!
