WATCH: Courtney Love, Loss And What I Wore

These days Courtney Love is known as a walking plastic surgery “don’t,” alleged Salman Rushdie groupie and mother of Skin & Ink centerfold Francis Bean. But once upon a time, she was a relevant rock musician that people actually paid attention to. (Look, it was the ’90s and we were all on E, okay?) Friend-of-Queerty Matt Siegel sent us this vintage clip he “discovered” of the original Riot Grrl, circa 1996, candidly sharing her feelings about widowhood and Kurt Cobain. “Needless to say, I was shocked to see the most beautiful woman in the world baring her soul in this never-before-seen footage,” he says.

Um, we were pretty shocked too.
