With this week's death of Vanity Fair scribe and courtroom chronicler Dominick Dunne, there's no better time to revisit 1970's gay camp classic The Boys in the Band, which Dunne executive produced. Starring all your favorite fictional Upper East Side homos from the 1960s, Boys in the Band centers around a birthday party featuring a motley crew of characters, including your alcoholic Catholic; the interior decorator; the book nerd; the "straight" guy; the prostitute; and the photographer. Thanks for this. I have read many different opinions on the historical significance of this movie and many criticisms of it but I had never seen it.Thanks for this unexpected screening. Please keep up this kind of content.
