WATCH: Don't Ask Don't Tell Harms Straight Soldiers, Too

The dashing First Lt. Dan Choi, who played grand marshal at San Francisco's Gay Pride Parade, is on hand to remind mainstream America why we have these giant street celebrations. But more importantly in this CNN interview, Choi inserts a fresh Don't Ask Don't Tell talking point: The anti-gay policy hurts straight soldiers too, since kicking out gay soldiers rips apart a unit, which harms all of the troops.

Oh, and tomorrow? That's when Choi "will face a panel of colonels who will decide whether or not to fire me — to discharge me for 'moral and professional dereliction' under the military's 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' policy."

It is not Prez Obama's fault that gays are getting kicked out of the military. It is the individual. Each and every Soldier knows what they are getting into and the rules in regards to Don't Ask, Don't tell; they don't ask and you don't tell. It is the policy. If that policy is violated, you get kicked out, plain and simple. I am not saying that the policy is right but it doesn't make sense to try to be the hero in all this. The system can't be beat. I stayed in 20 years and retired with no problems. I kept my private life away from the military. I kept my mouth closed and I suggest other gays do the same until the policy is repealed.

And when they ask anyway, or someone *else* tells on you, whether it's true or not?
