UPSIDE DOWNTON

WATCH: “Downtown Abbey” — The Musical Episode

Alright, it’s just a stage parody of Downton Abbey, but we still have a long wait until the premiere season four of our favorite posh drama so it’ll have to do.

Comic actor Colin Andrew Mochrie portrays Downton creator Julian Fellowes and punctuates the songs with his reasoning for creating the musical episode.

The parody’s producer Kevin Duda tells Entertainment Weekly that he and his friends are big fans of the popular British series. “We said ‘Well Buffy & Grey‘s did a musical episode,’ and we thought of Julian Fellowes in a room with Shonda Rhimes and Joss Whedon trying to plan out the inevitable Downton Abbey Musical Episode in season 4,” he said.

There’s even a tortured love song performed by gay butler Thomas Barrow. Adding to the fun is the fact that the video was filmed at the former (and notorious) ’70s hotspot Studio 54.

We have a feeling the Dowager Countess would not approve.
