While ex-NFL player David Tyree is taking a personal stand against “anarchy,” Elisabeth Hasselbeck is doing everything in her power to be taken seriously while wearing ridiculous golden chandelier earrings.
And speaking of “anarchy,” Kirstie Alley was the co-host this morning, but no one really let her talk because… well, she’s Kirstie Alley and people only take her seriously when things are going into her mouth.
There is no argument against marriage equality that doesn’t come from some bigoted religion. Period.
This is her standing up for her religion in the proxy of this other bigot.
Hassleback disgusts me; I wish I didn’t think she was cute in some of those dresses she wears.

Standing up for your beliefs is fine. Unlucky for Tyree, though, is that it is possible to be a man of convictions AND a man of intolerance. That’s the thing people like Hasselback don’t seem to get – he can unapologetically stand by his beliefs all he wants, but that conviction won’t change the ultimate damage he’s doing to the LGBT community of tdoay and the future generations of LGBT people (and not to mention, the damage he’s doing to his career/legacy.)

@christopher di spirito: They’re the ones with a national TV show and not you so I imagine enough people watch them.
· Flag
@Michael: They are in the top of the ratings with around a 1.2 this month for daytime talk. Translation: 763,000 people watch them on average any given day. So despite your seemingly very inflated sense of self worth and oversimplification of their on-air personalities, a LOT of people do watch them. While you may not agree with them this is still notable in that the things Elisabeth says do reach a wide audience – which is unfortunate.

@christopher di spirito: My bad, that was for Christopher. Sorry, Michael.

@Michelle: Your (il)logic is funny. So, 763,000 people watch them out of a nation of 308 million which isn’t 1% of the country. A lot of people? Ah, if you say so. :-)

Your all idiots who commented on this, and queerity is mispresenting this. Let get the fact correct. I only deal in facts. Elisabeth did a TELEPHONE INTERVIEW WITH DAVID TYREE. Whoopi Goldberg said to Elisabeth something like you did a telphone with Dayid Tyree please update up on what he said. As a reporter, host, she reported exactly what he said to her, or he can sue The View for Slander and misrepresentation.
So Queerity you slanted the headlines and mispresented EH. SHE WAS ONLY REPORTING ON WHAT DAVID TYREE TOLD HER IN THE TELEPHONE INTERVIEW. I THINK I WILL PASS THIS ON TO THE VIEW

I don’t know why Walters hired Shepherd or Hasselback, both a couple of psycho-talkers. Don’t we enough with Fox Faux News and right wing radio hosts? Another thing that annoys me about Walters is that when its a sensitive issue such as marriage equality, pedophilia, gay bashing and bullying, she NEVER invites an expert on to do what she and her co-hosts are incapable of doing, ergo explain the facts accurately and intelligently. Yet she’ll invite right wingers on with impunity to spew their venom.

Somehow the bigots have convinced liberals that using religion is an excuse for their bigotry.
This is ridiculous, if somebody was beating their children or trying to marry an 8 year old and claimed religion as an excuse nobody would listen.
If you are a bigot, then you are a bigot. If you are trying to claim that your religion says it has to be that way because the Bible says so, then you also better be against divorce, adultery, eating pork, shellfish, you should believe that your wife is a vertual slave and your children could be beaten, slavery is leagal etc…
So again, a bigot is a bigot, I don’t care what religion you are.

Cam, none of that matters if you’re a republican or a conservadem like Ruben Diaz who really should defect to the GOP and get it over with. Religion gets a free pass in this society and virtually no politician worth his or her salt is going to take them on. Its like supporting marriage equality, political suicide.
You wouldn’t believe the garbage I was hearing this morning on my local progressive radio station. People calling in saying that civil marriage has a religious connotation and therefore shouldn’t be allowed. I just don’t get it.
You’re right, a bigot is a bigot and almost always a bigot especially when it stems from religious beliefs. If you cornered them and asked them if they lived by every scriptural reference in the old testament, few would actually admit that they do. They pick and choose this and that to discriminate. Bigots but also hypocrites, liars in fact. Christians? NOT!

Apparently you do since you know what each one of them said. People have a right to their opinion, right or wrong, good or bad and preferences. We should be able to agree to disagree. Gays should accepts that some people support you and some don’t.

@*****: Wrong again. Sorry you’re too obtuse to have missed my point. But it sounds like ‘The View’ is intended for people like you. Enjoy!

@robert in NYC: Bingo! Barbara Wah Wah is was and has always been a establishment crony of the highest order. Why do you think they heap all those awards on a seemingly innocuous “personality junky” like her in the first place? She’s selling distraction and obfuscation so ignorant “mainstream” people can sleep with all the malice in their minds. BW is a transparent propagandist, always has been. That Mike Wallace caper really put her over the top, huh? Got her her own syndicated show in daytime prime time.

Jeffrey Roth: You only deal in facts and yet Whoopi said “something like”??? Not exactly FACTUAL – N’est pas? And by the way in using YOUR to open did you mean You are of You’re ??? I’m sure The View is waiting with bated breath for YOUR reporting!!!

The bottom line is EH did a PHONE INTERVIEW WITH DAVID TYREE. WHOOPI ASKED EH TO UPDATE EVERYBODY AND TELL THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE PHONE INTERVIEW WITH DAVID TYREE, AND WHAT HE SAID THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT EH DID. QUEERITY SLANTED THE STORY BECAUSE EH IS REPUBLICAN. Another example how blogs, people are attacked personally in today’s world. EH supports Gay Marriage. She was ONLY REPORTING A TELEPHONE INTERVIEW WITH DAVID TYREE. Shame on your Queerity for MISLEADING YOUR READERS. MAYBE YOU SHOULD GO OUT OF BUSINESS AGAIN AND NOT COME BACK.

Sorry, Jeffrey that is not “exactly” what she did. She made no complete direct quote of anything Tyree said. She instead offered her opinion of him as a person, etc. etc. etc. She can run on. And where EXACTLY did Queerty “slant” anything? Please use only facts and/or direct quotes. Perhaps you should review the tape and the copy again – and again.

Dear Elizabeth Hasselbeck,
The position the president of the United States takes on marriage is that marriage is a right. He gave a speech in New York this week, and for the first time, has vocalized his support. I’m sick of her using that as an ally in every fight about same-sex marriage. Guess she’ll have to find a different excuse.

Everytime this woman opens her mouth air comes out of it. Total kiss ass yet another religious individual covering up for and defending another BIGOTED religious individual.
My bad I forgot Elizabeths ALWAYS been bigoted my bad!
Oh I forgot to mention stupid.
Whoopi and Joy are the only ones that normally ever make sense when it comes to issues like this one.
Except when Whoopi took up for Mel Gibson after his racist comments using the excuse that he spent time with her children who were black.
I notice Sherrie always gets very awkward when she brings up anything about being gay as well. Its amazing that to this day there are STILL people who actually think Elizabeth and Sherrie are on our side. The kinds of friends who will smile to your face and stab you in the back is more like it.Like many politicians have also done .
