Did you know Ellen Degeneres used to be a Girl Scout?
As the hostess with the mostest noted, the Girl Scouts don’t discriminate “and neither do their cookies. They make each and every one of us gain 10 pounds.”
Ellen devoted her monologue on yesterday’s show to the Boy Scouts of America’s decision to delay a ruling on their gay membership ban, which didn’t make much sense to her.
“They won’t let their members be gay, well, openly gay anyway, but they’re letting them wear neckerchiefs and green short shorts.”
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.

I don’t see the BSA changing its policy for one very important reason: More than 90 percent of Boy Scout troops are sponsored by churches — many of which already have threatened to terminate their sponsorships if the BSA national board lifts the anti-gay ban.
Moreover, the Supreme Court effectively declared the BSA a religious organization when the justices also upheld its ban on atheists and agnostics — which, in my opinion, violated the constitutional separation of church and state.
The atheists, in my opinion, have a much stronger constitutional case than LGBT activists against the BSA, in that they can argue that their First Amendment freedom to NOT practice religion would be violated under the BSA’s policy.
Moreover, the Boy Scout troops that are sponsored by public institutions, such as public schools, can be sued for violating the Constitution’s Religious Test Clause for enforcing the Tenth Scout Law: “A Scout is reverent toward God.”

In the last six months alone, major corporations including UPS, United Way, the Merck Company Foundation and the Intel Foundation have announced they will drop high-dollar funding for the Boy Scouts. Verizon Communications could be nex. Does anyone care to guess why the Boy Scouts has decided to reconsider their ban on allowing gays into their homophobic den of of un-equality? Numerous community, state and federal agencies have discontinued free and unlimited use of public parks, forest areas and shelters. Dollars, or the lack of, will be the ultimate “decider.”
