WATCH: Gay Alumnus Finally Gets To Deliver Commencement Address

Dominic Sheahan Stahl was unceremoniously uninvited from delivering the commencement address at his alma mater, Sacred Heart Academy, in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, when administrators at the Catholic school discovered he was gay.

But Sheahan-Stahl got an even better offer: he was invited to give his speech at a special event at Central Michigan University on Sunday. “I was always taught that God is love and I hope that that my brother and other students will come away from my speech with the knowledge that all people deserve to be treated equally,” said Sheahan-Stahl.
